Baysuntau

On the south-western spur of the Gissar range, in the Surkhandarya region, there is the world-famous Baysuntau range, which attracts adventurers with its huge caves, deep canyons and Alpine meadows. By the way, the huge fossilized dinosaur tracks were found here and the notorious Teshik-Tash cave, where the burial of a Neanderthal girl was discovered in the last century, is located there.

After crossing the hot steppes of Baysuntau, you find yourself in the fantastic, magical settlements, the names of which are so full of magic: Kafirun, Derbend, Padang, Rabat. Walnut groves are replaced by juniper forests, alpine meadows delight the eye with their bright green, spreading like a carpet on the slopes. The crystal water of the rivers breathes life into all living things around.

The locals cultivate the land in the old way – drawn by horses and plows. Here the houses are decorated with handmade carpets, bright suzanas, and local clothes and shoes with a variety of embroidered ornaments. Almost all houses have a tandoor – an oven, where bread is baked. Everything in this region is done manually. Blacksmiths masters of Surkhandarya are famed for their skills.

Kitab State Geological Reserve

Kitab Nature Reserve is located in Kitab region on the spurs of the Zarafshan range. This is one of the most unique natural monuments. Here, you can touch the history of the ancient world, track the stages of life formation on our planet. The remains of ancient life forms can be seen in the cuts of the local rocks.

Trails and viewing platforms are equipped here for the tourists. In the rocks you can find the oldest corals and other marine remains formed about 470 million years ago. It is amazing that about 140 million years ago a warm sea basin was located here.

The main attraction of the reserve is the opportunity to look closely at the history of the formation of mountains and the preserved ancient life forms in them. The paleontological and the biological museums, the hotel, the hostel and cottages are located here.

Unimaginable beauty of the Urgut district

Look what the spring has bloomed in Urgut, in the unique area of the Samarkand region! The birds are chirping everywhere, and the air is filled with the freshness and fragrance of spring flowers. April painted the local nature in bright and juicy colors. The majestic mountains of Zarafshan seem to stand guard over this beautiful landscape.

One of the main attractions of this area is the ancient Chor-minor garden. On the territory of the garden about fifty thousand-year-old plane trees grow. Many of them reach 16 meters in diameter. Each tree is like a messenger from the past. Their wonderful trunks and curved rhizomes create a unique appearance of the garden.

Zarafshan reserve

Located along the right bank of the Zarafshan River, in the southeast of the Samarkand region, the Zarafshan Reserve has a large territory – more than 2 thousand hectares of land. The tugai forests and the rare Zarafshan pheasant on its territory are strictly protected by the government of the country.

Although the entire area of the reserve is tugai forests, in addition to tugai, fruit trees, willow, poplar, comb, sea buckthorn, reed, licorice, broom, goof and much more can be found here.More than 24 species of mammals make up the local fauna, including fox, badger, jackal, toll hare, porcupine and various rodents.

Coming to Buenos Aires means opening the door to know and fall in love with one of the largest and most cosmopolitan capital cities in South America – the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. With the Obelisco as one of its main icons, the city offers multiple options and spaces to visit. From modern avenues to beautiful parks and green spaces; buildings and monuments that are national historic heritage (Plaza de Mayo, the Pink House, the Cabildo, the National Congress, the Colón Theater, among others). But it is well worth going into the heart of the city to feel its most passionate tradition – tango. San Telmo, La Boca and Caminito are some of the must-see places. Chaco where “El Impenetrable” is one of the most impressive treasures of its geography, the habitat to species such as the anteater, tapir, among others, make this National Park a place of eco-touristic reference internationally.

Norte Region
This region in Argentina is integrated by six provinces located in the northwest of the territory: Jujuy, Salta, Catamarca, Santiago del Estero, Tucumán and La Rioja.

Patagonia Region
Mythical Patagonia treasures amazing natural sceneries. It is located in the south of Argentina and it is constituted by the provinces of La Pampa, Neuquén, Río Negro, La Pampa, Chubut, Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands.

Among its beautiful landscapes and great attractions, five World Heritage (UNESCO) sites stand out – Los Glaciares National Park, Cueva de las Manos (Hands Cave), Los Alerces National Park and Valdés Peninsula.

On one of its sides, the range of the Andes Mountains stands out from north to south as one of its natural borders and opens impressive landscapes. Volcanoes’ summits with geyser and hot springs; mountains from which huge glaciers, lakes and rivers descend. Charming valleys and mountain villages surrounded by millenary native forests or large steppe fields.

Patagonia also causes amazement with its wild fauna and biodiversity which is also impressive. From maras, rheas, guanacos, and red deer to condors hovering from the Andes to the hills by the sea. It is also a habitat for a rich sea world, where lots of species form colonies of sea lions and elephant seals, Magellanic penguins, dolphins, toninas, and other species that arrive depending on the season, out of which the southern right whale (Natural Monument) stands out.

Cordoba Region
From the center of the country, Córdoba is one of the most developed provinces with the highest population following Buenos Aires. In its capital city with the same name, you will be able to see an intense commercial life, with businesses, culture and universities, which make it a hub of outstanding gatherings, conferences and meetings throughout the year. Among them, we can mention the recent VIII International Congress of Spanish Language 2019.

Its main touristic center is Villa Carlos Paz, at the foot of San Roque Lake, and it is an ideal place for a getaway. The closeness to rivers, hills and the Cordoba spirit describe it as a unique place. In the summer season, the theater offer is one of its main attractions as well as the possibility to enjoy dams, fit for sailing and practicing water sports.

Traslasierra and the valleys of Punilla and Calamuchita, among other regions in Cordoba, are also highly recommended to stay close to nature, with its brooks and rivers in an environment of absolute peace.

The kid goat from Cordoba, cheese and sausages from Colonia Caroya are some of its gastronomic legends, as well as the typical products such as the alfajor. Cuyo Region
The Cuyo Region is located on the Andes Mountains and extends to the south of the Sierras Pampeanas (Pampa’s Hills), covering the provinces of Mendoza, San Juan and San Luis.

In the Andes mountain range, the Aconcagua Mount rises, with 6,959 m above sea level, which attracts and challenges adventurers from all over the world to reach the highest summit in America. There are also other mountains that stand out such as Tupungato, Mercedario and Cordón del Plata, which are ideal to practice Alpinism, mountain climbing and trekking. And in the winter centers in Mendoza, you will find the best ski snow trails in the region.

By the way, it is the same Mountain Range that invites you to take San Martin’s Route, which was the historical freedom expedition of General San Martín, and cross the Andes riding a horse in Mendoza and San Juan.

Cuyo also stands out for the Wine Route, as it concentrates the major wine production in the country and variety of grapes (Malbec, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin and Riesling, Bonarda, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot and Syrah). And you can choose from a variety of wineries, more than one thousand, to visit – from small cellars at the foot of the Mountain Range, craft wineries, boutique wineries or industrial wineries. Other activities that are a must are taking part of a grape harvest, going on bike-tours or horse-riding tours among vineyards and visiting their theme museums.

In Cuyo, you can visit more than twenty natural areas, some of which are great attractions for scientific and paleontological tourism. Among its most outstanding points, San Juan has El Leoncito National Park and Ischigualasto National Park. The latter is included as World Heritage (UNESCO). And in San Luis, Sierra de las Quijadas is another must-see place in the region.

With the Obelisco as the starting point, you can walk along the spectacular 9 de Julio Avenue – one of the broadest in the world -, take a picture of the Colon Theater – considered one of the most important opera houses worldwide – and reach the traditional Avenida de Mayo.

Once you reach this classic artery of the city, which was the meeting point of those immigrants who arrived in large amounts to our country during the second half of the 19 th century and the beginning of the 20 th century, the circuit passes by the National Congress, Plaza de Mayo and its surroundings, the Pink House, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Cabildo (ancient town hall), among others.

History and bohemia in San Telmo, Caminito in La Boca, the elegance of Recoleta (a tour of the Cemetery is recommended), Corrientes (the avenue that never sleeps) or even the Women’s Bridge in the modern district of Puerto Madero, among others, complete the tour. You cannot miss the eclectic architecture of Buenos Aires which is worth analyzing.

Buenos Aires is a classic of all classics, with multiple places to visit and enjoy.

Tango – An icon of Buenos Aires
When the night falls in the city, tango deploys all its sensuous style and charm in the tanguerias, milongas and dinners theaters and high-impact theater shows. The circuit is broad and diverse.

It mainly concentrates in the southern districts, where the orchestras, singers and dancers offer classic and cutting-edge first level shows accompanied by delicious authentic Argentine meals.

Tango, asado, empanadas and wine have established a curious combination full of pleasure. Dance couples rehearse high-difficulty steps, with twists, turns and jumps, very sensuous. The costume designs are luxurious. Singers and orchestras accompany wonderfully and add glamour to the tango night in Buenos Aires.

The milongas, which are less famous, but not less attractive, in the downtown and in districts such as Almagro, Abasto, and Palermo, where the aim is to dance the night away. Far from the concept of a show, at the popular milongas everybody plays a leading role. The tango is not observed here, it is lived.

Experts, amateurs, beginners and curious bystanders of all ages mix up on the dance floor. Some milongas begin with tango lessons in which you can learn the basic eight steps. You must go earlier if you want to take lessons.

Tango is a musical expression and a sensual dance, but it is much more than that. It is a special language – lunfardo, slang related to immigrants and arrabales from Buenos Aires, a dress code, and a way of walking, a way of life.

Salta City Tour
The city of Salta is an ideal place to walk around it. The tour leads to 9 de Julio Square, the main point in the city. The Paseo Güemes, an important gastronomic hub in the last few years, with the Monument that pays homage to Martín Miguel de Güemes, highly relevant Argentine Independence hero, is another stop you cannot miss.

Another must is San Bernardo Convent, with a wooden main door carved by the native inhabitants of the area. In the surroundings of this circuit, there are many crafts shops and regional products stores, bars and restaurants that offer delicious typical gastronomy.

The cable car to Cerro San Bernardo is a classic. Once you are on the mountain, you reach the “balcony of Salta”. This is where you can have a spectacular panoramic view of the city.

Tour of Jesuits Estate
The legacy of the Jesuit Religious Order in Córdoba is a subject of study and interest not only in terms of tourism, but also in social-cultural matters. Its construction took almost 20 years and, in 1989, it was declared National Historical Monument. It has a total surface of 58 thousand square meters. The main hall has a horseshoe shape. It seats 2,478 people and has standing room for 500 people. The stage has an inclination of three centimeters by meter and is 35.25 wide and 34.5 long. It is 48 m high.

The orchestra pit, treated with a resonance chamber and special curves to reflect sound, has a capacity for 120 musicians. All these conditions allow the theater to have one of the best acoustics in the world.

The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, New York Symphonic Orchestra, and artists, such as Luciano Pavarotti, among numerous stars and groups, presented outstanding performances in this prestigious theater.

Guided tours are offered every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The tours begin every 15 minutes with a maximum number of 34 people.

At that time, students took Philosophy and Theology lessons. This beginning was the cornerstone for the subsequent emergence of the University.

Currently, the UNC is an absolute reference on an educational level not only in Argentina, but also all over Latin America. In addition to being a hub that gathers thousands of Argentine students, just like UBA, it receives a significant amount of international university students.

Precisely, and due to its long educational history in the city, at the beginning of this year, it was honored to be the venue for the VIII International Congress of Spanish Language 2019, and the UNC participated in the academic coordination team of this event. It was a historical event, in which important personalities, such as King Felipe VI of Spain, were present.

In the Province of Buenos Aires, its capital city is La Plata. Apart from being famous for being the City of Diagonals, it is a classic in educational matters. Large amounts of students from all over the country and from abroad come to this city. This hub in the province of Buenos Aires is undoubtedly a synonym of study. 30 km from the downtown of Mina Clavero, you can see the source of the river. Tourists find there a spectacular fall of water over 100 m, which summarizes the power of nature in Córdoba. This is one of the must-see places in the Province of Córdoba.

During summer, thousands of families share endless days under the sun in the hills, and enjoy the river water that combines with the rocks and generates a ludic and natural rhythm. Abuela Teresa, La Toma, and La Residencia are some of the beaches, among others, that are great options to spend a different season.

Ruta de los Siete Lagos
Immerse in the Andean Patagonia, on the mythical Route 40, Argentina proposes to get in the car and take one of the most wonderful roads in the world, that of the Seven Lakes.

By more than 100 km, between the cities of San Martín de los Andes and Villa La Angostura (two of the most charming cities in the region, in the Province of Neuquén), crystal water between mountains and landscapes full of nature make up an unparalleled context. Tourists from all over the world go there to visit and interpret nature in its purest state.

Lácar, Machónico, Falkner, Villarino, Escondido, Correntoso and Espejo integrate this circuit of unrepeated lakes, a scenery from a fairy tale. The tour may take around 3 hours including lookouts, breathtaking landscapes and the invitation to take a thousand photographs.

From Pinamar to Cariló, Valeria del Mar and Ostende, the beaches of Pinamar welcome travelers with proposals for the whole summer.

In addition, the waterfront has been transformed: its system of footbridges make it accessible to go down the sand, making it easy for everyone to get to and stay close to the water. Miramar energetic forest
The Dunícola Nursery Forest “Florentino Ameghino” is one of the best known tourist spots in Miramar, with its 502 hectares of afforestation fixed on dunes. It has numerous spaces to develop adventure tourism, walks and rest in full contact with nature. In addition, there are two sectors of fireplaces and a service area with a restaurant, a grocery store, public baths, bicycle and horse rental for the typical horseback riding through the forest trails.

The beaches of villa Gesell
From the crowded beaches of Villa Gesell to the most intimate and spacious ones of Mar de las Pampas, Mar Azul, Las Gaviotas and Colonia Marina, there are many proposals on the coast of Geselina: surf lessons, mates with churros, recitals, the pier, fishing or a walk along the waterfront promenade (from Calle 303 in Barrio Norte to Paseo 129, where the Fisherman’s Wharf is located).

To bear in mind: this year Playas Saludables returns, with recreational activities for adults and children ranging from yoga, Zumba classes, beachvoley, recreation for the little ones, all free and free. Check where and when you can find them.

Kayaks are extremely stable and, therefore, inexperienced or handicapped people can enjoy this wonderful adventure. You are provided with waterproof coats, life jackets, and horseshoe lifebuoys, so all you need to bring is a pair of sandals or shoes that you do not mind getting soaked.

With the company of a specialized guide, you will explore a variety of amazing lakes: Nahuel Huapi, Moreno, Gutiérrez, Mascardi, Los Moscos, Hess, Fonk, Roca, Guillelmo and Steffen, among others.

The tours include in/out transfer, meals, equipment and bilingual guides in all the circuits, in addition to tents and kitchen utensils. When the trip is for more than one day, kayakers only need to bring their own sleeping bags and thermal insulation mats.

Hike to Laguna de los tres
This is perhaps the most renowned of the trekking circuits of El Chaltén. It is also the most important or famous challenge for those sportspeople who reach this town in Patagonia.

You can reach here the base of Fitz Roy Mount. When you reach the goal, you can see the Lagoon and Los Tres Glacier. The panoramic view you can get from here is truly unrivalled. Depending on the season, the lagoon may be frozen, but the landscape is amazing at all times, though.

And, last but not least, a few meters above, by the side of Laguna de Los Tres (Lagoon) there lies another jewel from this place – Laguna Sucia. The round trip takes around eight hours in total, approximately. It must be taken into account that the last two hours and a half are of permanent ascent.

The Great Adventure in Iguazu
This tour combines the jungle with the water of the Falls. Those who wish to take this tour must take the truck that leaves from the Visitors Center to the base of Puerto Macuco.

It is a 5 km ride in the middle of the jungle, where you can see the typical vegetation of the place. Once you arrive at Puerto Macuco, you must go on the boat that invites you to sail 6 km through the Lower Iguazu River canyon to submerge beneath the waterfalls.

Useful tips: the minimum age to take this tour is 12 years old (they must bring a document to evidence the age). You should check the timetable before and, if necessary, show up 10 minutes earlier before you go on the truck.

The tour lasts 1 hour and 20 minutes. Passengers will get soaked – it is recommended to bring a change of clothes. Therefore, you should keep your personal objects in the waterproof bags that are provided when you go on the boat.

This experience is full of adrenaline and emotion in one of the most beautiful places in the world!

Kayak in front of Perito Moreno Glacier
From a kayak, at the foot of the world famous Perito Moreno Glacier, you can get a unique perspective of this place.

The experience begins at the Perito Moreno Kayak Experience meeting point, located in the vicinity of the main parking at Los Glaciares National Park, where a team receives passengers and provides information on the activity.

Once you are on this small boat, you can feel the adrenaline since the very first minute, as you can sail along the lake between of the glacier and drift ice.

Tourists also have two options: a full-day tour, which includes in/out transfer from downtown El Calafate and lunch. The other option does not include the in/out transfer to the Park. Both options include technical equipment, snacks, hot beverages and a USB with the best pictures of your adventure. The return begins in the evening.

Useful information: this activity can be done between August and May.

Surf in Mar del Plate
Mar del Plata has been surfing capital for several years and is constantly renewing its offer. The experienced ones will find waves to meet the challenge, and those with this unfinished business and want to cheer up, have schools and instructors to start with.

Where? The most chosen are Playas del Sur, Waikiki, Punta Mogotes, Playa Grande and Varese. In addition, kitesurfing, stand up paddle, windsurfing and bodyboarding are more and more installed in the city.
