Hiking
Kosovo is a hiking paradise for all types!
You can choose the short distance from the city, or the long one in the countryside. Easily accessible.
Internationally recognized brands “Peaks of the Balkans” and “Via-Dinarica” are among most wanted hiking packages of the region.
Packages include: professional guides, transport, accommodation in mountain huts and food.

Via-Ferrata
Dare to imagine what comes after the next step and brace yourself for breathtaking views. A seasoned climber or not, the Via Ferrata lines — three in the western part of the country, one in south and the other in the north, are accessible for all. Due to the country’s geographical position and climate conditions, all Via Ferrata lines can be used most of the year. There are well-trained, safe and friendly professional guides to engage.

Camping
One of the most famous outdoor activity in Kosovo. Tends and guides are available upon request and can be rented with reasonable price.
This activity is able starting from May until November and usually it is organized by local alpine clubs or inbound tour operators.
The offers include: transfer from Prishtina, guide and tends.

Caving
Only 11 km from the city of Peja in Western Kosovo lies a narrow tunnel that is the entrance to the “Sleeping Beauty” Cave in Radavc. Its rock formations make dazzling colorful patterns. Further inside, you see stone basins created over time by the dripping water. A stalactite shaped like a hand — the fingers of the “Sleeping Beauty” — point towards the cave floor, perhaps to treasures hidden by Time.

Rock Climbing
Rock Climbing routes has started to be developed by local enthusiast. Today there are several rock climbing routes in Western and Southern Kosovo. Mirusha Waterfall and Guri Plakes are also a places where climbers find their peers. Most of the inbound tour operators offer equipment’s and guides for rock climbing. If necessary, rock climbing can be combined with camping, too.

Skiing
In Kosovo there are three ski centers namely: Brezovica and Brod in Southern Kosovo and Boge in Western Kosovo.
Brezovica is considered one of the best ski centers in the region in terms of snow quality and slopes, while Brod and Boge are more suitable for beginners.

Snowshoeing
Winter is here. You miss hiking in the wild. Well, who said you cannot?
Put on a pair of snow shoes and go explore the frosted nature on your feet, only to come back to warm traditional food straight from the earthen pots, which you can savor in the wooden cottages studding the remote mountainous villages.

Free Riding
Free riding in Kosovo is incomparable! Its starts from the town called Junik and its unique experience as it is pronounced in the local language. This activity starts from 100.00 EUR per day and includes: transfer, accommodation and half board and is available starting from December until March depending from the weather conditions.

Kayaking
Red, orange, green or yellow. Choose the color of the kayak to sail into the blue waters of Badovc Lake, surrounded by lush forests, about 16 kilometers from Kosovo’s capital. Fish and meat sizzling on the barbecue await as you are back from the exercise.

Starting from 15.00 EUR per person you can hire a guided horse back riding tour and explore untouched nature, followed by rare species of butterflies that live only in this region.

Paragliding
Peja, Istog and Prizren are spots for Paragliding activity in Kosovo. For paragliding lovers, flying with tandem starts from 30.00 EUR for approximately 15-25min.

Trail Running
Kosovo established its Trail Running Association. A group of highly motivated professional are engaged to promote this activity through daily activities and special events.

Wine Tasting
The wines produced express the character of their unique vineyards.
Visit Kosovo’s vine yard region and evaluate vines from local producers or you can always be part of a traditional Hardhfest festival in Rahovec during every September and taste local wines accompanied with rock music.

Shopping Malls with well known international brands are located mostly in Prishtina, Prizren, Peja and Ferizaj.
For buying local and unique hand made products visit old bazaars of Peja, Gjakova and Prizren. Plis or filigree are highly recommended product to buy while visiting Kosovo.

Zip-Line
Humans were born to fly, and zip-lines are there to help. Cross the Rugova Canyon by air along the 640 meters of the zip-line, one of the world’s top ten. Bear Watching
Meet the worlds friendliest bears, who spend their days in a forest sanctuary created specifically for their well being. The Bear Sanctuary Prishtina has currently 19 brown bears in custody. It is located in Mramor village close to Prishtina city. Access to Bear Sanctuary is able by public bus or taxi. Open everyday, all seasons.

Archaeological
Ulpiana
Today’s ruins of the ancient Roman city named Ulpiana after Empreor Justinian who built it in the beginning of the 4th century, lie only XX kilometers from Kosovo’s capital, amidst vast cornfields. Beautifully cared for, the grounds offer visitors history and a walking experience.

Novoberdo
A castle by any name still stands strong the same. Known as Novus Mons, Novamonte or Nyeuberghe, it used to be a metropolis inside a medieval fortress erected on the top of an extinct volcano. Nowadays, the remains of the castle loom over the town of Novobërda.

Dresnik
Drensik is one of the most important archaeological localities not only in Kosovo but also in the region. The site is in the continuous excavations and resulted in very interesting and important findings for getting acquainted with the early civilization in Kosovo.

Mountains
Accursed Mountains
A spectacular mountain range slicing the Western Balkans, extending from North Albania to Kosovo and Eastern Montenegro. Hiking across Via-Dinarica and the Peaks of the Balkans, crossing the routes that pass through the Accursed Mountains, is a life-changing experience.

Bajgora Region
Located in the Northern part of Kosovo, this region is known for soft hiking routes and delicious food offered by local guesthouses. Hidden waterfalls of this region are there to be explored. Stories about miners of Trepca will accompany you during your journey in this region.

Sharri Mountains
The Ski Resort of Brezovica, one of Kosovo’s top attractions is part of the National Park in the mountain range extending from Kosovo to the northwest of the Republic of Macedonia and Albania. At 900 m (2,953 ft) to 2,524 m (8,281 ft) above sea level, it makes skiing or hiking a unique experience.

Waterfalls
Mirusha
The Mirusha Waterfalls are a series of waterfalls found in the Mirusha Park, in central Kosovo. The waterfalls have, over time, created canyons and caves, which are famous throughout the country. The river has carved a 10 kilometers (6 mi) canyon and created 13 lakes with waterfalls between them.

Drini Bardhe
The Drini i Bardhë river presents you an impressive 25-meter high waterfall, with its powerful stream that makes you shiver even in scorching summer temperatures. Part of a series of natural waterfalls in the area, over time, the water has created canyons and caves, worth a visit.

Stantërg-Bare River
A hidden waterfall located in the Northen Kosovo in the village of Stanterg close to Trepca Mine. Comparing to Mirusha and Drini, this waterfall is consider smaller. It is opened and accessible for all, year around. Make sure you camera is charged for capturing incredible photos.

Lakes
Liqenati
At 1,970 m (6,463 ft), the lake on Mount Liqenat in the Accursed Mountain range in Western Kosovo, it takes the name after this place. The Liqenat lake is a favorite sport for hikers of the Rugova Canyon or nearby peaks, like Liqenat at 2,341 m (7,680 ft) and Guri i kuq at 2,522 m (8,274 ft).

Gazivoda
With a surface area of 11.9 km2 (4.6 sq mi) Gazivoda Lake is the biggest in Kosovo. It formed by the Ibër River, which flows into it. Activities like water-pedaling, kayaking and fishing are offered during the season and can be combined with biking, paragliding or climbing.

Batllava
A 48m deep lake located in the region of Podujeva. Water bikes, swimming and fishing activities are available during the spring and summer seasons.
Restaurants around the lake offer international and local receipts emphasizing a famous trout fish of the region.

Museums
National Museum
The National Museum of Kosovo, in the center of the capital, Prishtina, was founded in 1949. The museum comprises of archaeology, ethnography, and natural science departments. In 1959, the department for the study of history and the National Liberation War was added.

Museum of Cristlas
The National Museum of Crystals and Minerals in Trepça, north Kosovo, is of particular importance for Kosovo. The crystals exhibited at the museum were discovered and excavated in this ore-rich area by employees and engineers of Trepça Mines.

Prizren League
The League of Prizren was an Albanian political organization established on 10 June 1878 in Prizren. Its program and movement were crucial in the history of the Albanian nation. The Museum of the League of Prizren exhibits documents, clothes and artifacts of that time.

Religious Sites
Decan Monastery
A medieval Christian Orthodox monastery located in Western Kosovo, part of the World Heritage sites named “Medieval Monuments in Kosovo”. Always worth a visit to learn more about the history of religions and spirituality in the area and enjoy the beautiful religious artwork on display.

Sinan Pasha Mosque
An Ottoman mosque in the city of Prizren, Kosovo. It was built in 1615 by Sofi Sinan Pasha, bey of Budim. The mosque overlooks the main street of Prizren and is a dominant feature in the town’s skyline.
It remains open for tourists, year around (except the praying times).

Mother Theresa Cathedrale
A Roman Catholic Cathedral being constructed in Prishtina, Kosovo in 2007. The cathedral is dedicated to the Albanian-Indian Roman Catholic nun and missionary, Saint Teresa of Calcutta. Climbing on the tower of cathedral is open for visitors offering a view towards Prishtina City.

Handicrafts
Filigrees
A delicate jewelry art work is a well preserved tradition of some families of Prizren and Peja.

Old crafts
Old-crafts such as: plismakers or blacksmiths are still active and offer their products.

Clothes
Red, white and black color is dominant in traditional clothes. Each region has its own design.

The air-gate to Kosovo. The country’s airport is located just 20 km from the capital, Prishtina, and is the first entry point for visitors arriving by aircraft’s. Taxi service to the city is reliable. The main attractions you will find in Kosovo are the Mirusha Waterfalls, open year-round. Other recommended sites are the Graçanica Monastery (UNESCO) and Ulpiana Archaeological Park. Main cities and towns: Prishtina, Graçanica, Vushtrri and Malisheva.

Biking in Germia Park
One of the most beautiful parks located in the vicinity of cities of the region, offering plenty opportunities for outdoor fun.

There is a strange pull towards regions that thrive on multiculturalism. Throw in this mix pristine nature and wine routes, and you will be spending some of the best holidays ever. You can start the journey at the Castle of Prizren. In winter time, you can ski either in Brod or Brezovica. We do recommend you try both, and then visit Rahovec for wine tasting and special chicken-in-garlick-yoghurt dip. The main towns of this region are: Prizren, Ferizaj, Rahovec, Dragash and Shtërpce.

Things to see
Prizren Castle
The Prizren Castle contains in itself an important part of the ancient history of the city.
Its topographic position, its domination over the city, a rather attractive natural landscape, and the well-thought architectural configuration render the site rather valuable in terms of archaeology, history and tourism.

Prevalla
Prevalla Park, in the heart of Sharr Mountains, located in the eastern part of the city of Prizren, extends from north to south, at 1,515 meters above sea level.
The mountainous terrain, amazing landscape and fresh air make it a fantastic area for hiking and biking, or simply a day out in good company.

Brod
The velvety grassy meadows are a hiker’s wonderland, the right spot for nature lovers and horse-back riding enthusiasts. This region is also rich in wild medicinal aromatic plants that you can easily pick to make your own tea infusions, sweetened with honey from the region, accompanied by the famous Sharri cheese.

Prizren Old City Tour
Within less than 5 square kilometers, the beating heart of Prizren Old City takes you back in time. Step over the ruins of Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman Empire times, while enjoying the modern-day breath-taking view of the city from atop the City Castle.

Skiing

At 2,656 meters above sea level, the region of Western Kosovo presents you with a breathtaking view: Mount Gjeravica, the highest peak in Kosovo, part of the national park named “The Accursed Mountains.” That is not all – other impressive mountain tops and areas await the curious and daring tourists: the Rugova Canyon, Boga villages and Drini i Bardhë Waterfall. Zip-Line

The Castle of Novobërda looms over the area where stories about the life of saintly Mother Teresa are told in Letnica and Stublla villages. For spa lovers, Kllokot is where the local go. Gadime Marble Cave
Discovered in 1969, this impressive marble cave is full of extraordinary crystallized stalagmites and stalactites that have formed over millions of years.

Black Madonna Church
Located in Letnica village. It was here that Mother Teresa received her calling to devote her life to helping those in the world who are truly in need.

Novoberdo Castle

Equestrianism more often known as horse riding is well known activity in this region and is suitable for everyone. The ranch is located close to Gjilan city.
