Take the small group Dunn’s River Falls tour and two things are for sure: you’ll escape the mob scenes, and you’ll have the absolute time of your life!

After driving from Falmouth, approximately 40 minutes west of Ocho Rios, you will arrive at Dunn’s River Falls. After walking down to the bottom of the falls on the adjacent flights of stairs, you’ll begin your climb back to the top. It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to climb all the way up the mountain. There are places along the way to slide down into pools of water, take a swim and continue your climb. For those who wish to stop climbing, there are multiple points where you can leave the falls and walk on the adjacent path. There are local “guides” at the falls who will lead you up. These guides are separate from your Falmouth port tour and will expect a gratuity when you reach the top.

After your climb, your driver will be waiting to drive you back to Falmouth.

The Enchanted Gardens, Bird Aviary, and Waterfall is a 15-acre tropical garden conveniently located in the resort town of Ocho Rios and features 14 cascading waterfalls on the Turtle River which flows through the property.

During your approximately 70 minute guided walk through the property, your guide will point out the varieties of indigenous and endangered plants, such as a wide range of palms, Heliconias, Lilies, Ferns, Hibiscus, Anthuriums, Orchids, Bromeliads and tropical Fruit trees. This tropical paradise will take your breath away with its rustic charm and natural setting. As you transverse the paths that criss cross this hillside local, you will also have the opportunity to see a Lilly pond, and a Koi pond with different kind of Japanese Koi.

The Gardens are dominated by the breath-taking waterfalls. Lose yourself amongst our fourteen natural waterfalls with meandering streams and spring-fed pools. The Rainforest surrounds the most majestic of the waterfalls and also surrounds the upper steeper portion of the property. The many and famous viewing platforms along the river provide the perfect viewing point to appreciate the plant diversity of the rainforest.

Clearly seen along the river walk are the four levels typical of a rainforest, namely, the emergent level, the canopy, the understory and the forest floor, providing fantastic educational opportunity on the world’s imperiled rainforests and what is required to preserve them.

The Walk-In-Aviary is 140 feet in diameter and 75 feet in height (382,329 cubic feet) covers approximately 15,400 square feet of land and is stocked with colorful tropical birds including some of the 27 species endemic to Jamaica.

After the guided portion of the tour, you will have approximately 60 minutes of free time to explore further on your own. The Aviary offers a vivid interactive experience for visitors who are permitted, as additional entertainment, to interact and feed the birds. For the more adventurous, you can climb the falls and refresh and revitalize your body in their rushing waters while taking memorable photographs against the majestic backdrop.

Next, you travel to Ocho Rios, where you can be let off in town to do some shopping or be dropped back at the cruise pier or your hotel.

Grab your swimsuit, sunscreen, and beach towel and get ready for a fun day on the powdery-white sand of a beautiful Jamaican beach where the crystal-clear Caribbean waters await.

Located approximately 15 minutes from the cruise terminal you will reach your destination where your beach chair will be waiting for you (beach umbrellas are not included but can be rented for $10 USD each). You will also find on the beach cabanas that include beach beds, cushions, and drapes (these also can be rented, not included in the price of the tour, for $60 USD).

There is never a dull moment at this beach paradise as reggae music fills the air alongside the sound of the soothing waves. Learn some new dance moves from the friendly staff who are more than happy to teach you the latest steps.

There are optional non-motorized water sports available at an additional cost as well. Maybe you would like to take out a kayak, paddleboat, or snorkel? Pricing and reservations are made directly with the independent water-sports operator on the beach.

After approximately three hours of beach time you will make your way back to town and visit the historic area of Falmouth for lunch, sightseeing and shopping.

A delicious and authentic Jamaican style lunch of ‘jerk’ can be found in town (at your own expense and your own choice) to make this special day even more memorable. A visit to the Old Georgian Building, Water Square, the Old Port, St. Peter’s Anglican Church (built-in 1796) and the old Courthouse of 1817 are a few of the historic landmarks to see.

Make your way back to the pier area and your ship on your comfortable return transportation.
