Day 01 Arrive Delhi (By Flight)
Arrival at Delhi airport. You will be greeted by our representative at the airport and transferred to hotel. Later start tour of New Delhi with wide tree lined avenues, parks and fountains surrounding the imposing government and state buildings. Drive past the imposing India Gate, The Parliament Buildings and President House. Then visit Qutabminar, built in 1193 a.d. it is a striking medieval tower of victory of persian architecture style. Next stop is Humayun’s Tomb.

Afternoon, drive to Raj Ghat, where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. Then visit old Delhi that includes visit to Red Fort, enjoy a rickshaw ride along the alleys of ancient bazaar of Chandni Chowk with stop at Jama Masjid, the largest Mosque in Asia.
Return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 02 Delhi – Amritsar (By Flight)
After breakfast, transfer to Delhi airport for flight to Amritsar.
On arrival at Amritsar, transfer to hotel.

Later, we will visit the Wagah Border. Located on the India/Pakistan Border, Wagah is 28 kilometers from the Amritsar main town. A good number of visitors come to this place to witness the “changing of the guard” ceremony and the flag hoisting and lowering activities which are done with great skill and precision by the border security forces of both the countries. A sight you cannot afford to miss.

Day 03 Amritsar – Anandpur Sahib (By Road) (194 Kms. / 4H 30M appx.)
Early this morning we go to Golden Temple for early morning procession known as prabhatpheri. There is a continuous singing of gurbani kiran, hymns from the opening of its portals (doors) to their closing. After the departure of the Palki Sahib (palanquin) carrying the sacred book – Sri Guru Granth Sahib to the Akal Takhat Sahib Temple, the devotees, accompanied by the Gurdwara’s Temple staff, clean the Sri Harimandir Sahib for one hour. At the completion of the ardas (sikh prayer), karah prasad (holy offering) is distributed among the devotees.

We will spend most of our morning at the Golden Temple, which offers great photo opportunities. the Golden Temple is located in the heart of the city and characterized by its four entrance doors (called deoris) in all four directions and the tastefully decorated shrines, in terms of art and architecture. Golden Temple welcomes everyone regardless of the religion or faith one follows.

The stunning sanctum, shimmering in the water of the holy tank, flanked by spotlessly clean marble walkways and pavements makes it breathtakingly beautiful. Afternoon drive to Anandpur Sahib and check in at camp. Overnight stay.

Day 04 Anandpur Sahib (Hola Mollah)
The Hola Mohalla is an impressive traditional display of Bravery and Valor that is a must see. The ultimate display of machismo – Hola Mohalla, an annual Sikh Festival held a day after holi, has the drama, the sweat and the incredible colours that indian festivals are known for with impressive displays of weaponry, archery and wrestling, there’s also music, poetry and prayers, singing and chanting. an important part of the festival is the langar (community food) that is served to pilgrims irrespective of their religion or caste.

One of the main attractions at the festival are the Nihangs — a prestigious armed sect of the sikha who wear a striking blend of blue and orange, with thick twisted moustaches and overwhelmingly large and embellished turbans.They also demonstrate thrilling horse riding shows where the riders gallop bareback, performing tricks like riding astride two horses. Hola Mohalla is held at Anandpur Sahib in the state of Punjab, and it is estimated that over 100,000 sikh devotees attend the festival.

Day 05 Anandpur Sahib – Chandigarh (By Road) (82 Kms. / 1H 40M appx.)
We will start early in the morning to witness and capture the various activities that take place during the festival. We will spend the day here photographing this colorful and amazing festival.

Later driver to Chandigarh which is undoubtedly best-planned Indian City designed by world famous architect Le Corbusier who realized dream of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehra, the first Prime Minister of India.

Then visit the capitol complex which is most spectuacularrokd of le corbusier. The splendid builidings, set against the shivalik peaks, stand “as massive sculptures, representing the monumental character authority that the complex represents. The complex consists of three master-pieces: The secretariat, the high court and the legislative assembly. Besides the master work of Le Corbusier, the city is also known for unique world acclaimed rock garden which houses art objects made of industrial and urban waste.

Rock Garden’s entrance leads to a magnificent display of boulders, broken chinaware, discarded fluorescent tubes, broken and cast away glass bangles, building waste, to create a dream folk world of palaces, soldiers, monkeys, village life, women and temples. The open air sculptures and concealed gateways separating them are at places enhanced by a waterfall, pools and an open air theatre with proper stage setting. Overnight stay.

Day 06 Chandigarh – Haridwar (By Road) (224 Kms. / 5H appx.)
Morning leave for Rishikesh and stop en-route at Haridwar. It is one of most important holiest places for hindus and one of four cities where Kumbhmela is held after 12 years which is known for one of biggest human gathering in the world. Visit Har-Ki-Pauri (the footstep of god) and the proceed to chandigarh which is undoubtedly best-planned indian city designed by world famous architect le corbusier who realized dream of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehra, The First Prime Minister of India.

Later drive to Rishikesh which is located in foothills of the himalayas. It is also called as the “gateway to the garhawl himalayas” and considered as one of most important pilgrim places for hindus. The sacred river ganges flows through Rishikesh before entering plane areas of North India. Rishkesh is also famous for many Ashrams and also called Yoga Capital of the world.

Day 07 Rishikesh
Morning tour of Rishikesh – also known as the ‘place of sages’, at the confluence of the Chandrabhaga and Ganga Rivers. It is the starting point for the Char Dham pilgrims but also for the people who are interested in meditation, yoga and other aspects of hinduism. In Rishikesh visit Laxmanjhula- a hanging bridge on the river ganga is one of the most famous spot in Rishikesh. The bridge offers a scenic view of the river ganga as it tumbles down to Haridwar.

Day 08 Rishikesh – Delhi (By Road) (240 Kms. / 5H 10M appx.)

Day 01 Arrive Ahmedabad (By Flight)
Arrive at Ahmedabad airport and transfer to hotel. Ahmedabad, also known as Amdavadwas founded by Ahmed Shah onthe banks of the Sabarmati river in 1411 and thus named as Ahmedabad. The city is also known for its association with Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation. Later start tour of Ahmedabad city visitingGandhi Ashram, also known as the Sabarmati ashram. located on the banks of the Sabarmati.This Ashram was set up by the Mahatma Gandhi in 1915 and is one of his most famous memorial.

Also visit Dada HariVav which was built in 1499 by a woman of Sultan Begara’s harem. Continue tour to visit Adalaj ,situated about 17 km north of Ahmedabad. The baoli or step-well at AdalajVav is one of the finest step wells in India built in 1499. The baoli is decorated with exquisite stone carvings. Overnight stay.

Day 02 Ahmedabad – Sidhpur–Patan– Modhera– Dasada (229 Km/ 4H 50M)
Morning leave Ahmedabad to first visit Sidhpur. The town also holds importance for the Bohra Muslims, an affluent Muslim community. Their old Havelis and mansions, some over 100 years old have a markedly European flavor and a walk through the ‘BohraVad’ is like a stroll through an England replete with the lamp lighters at dusk. BohraHavelis’ represent a nostalgic visual straight out of a Dickenson novel. Next stop is The Rani kiVav, a step well in Patanwhich is an excellent example of subterranean architecture in Gujarat This represents the finest of the Indian sculptures and architecture and forms the link between a kunda and the classical step-well.

Final en-route stop is Modhera, known for the 11th century Sun temple and it is one of the finest Hindu temples in Gujarat, built by the great Solanki dynasty. The temple is designed to let the dawn sun shine on the image of Surya, at the time of equinoxes. Later continue drive for Dasada and check in at Hotel for overnight stay.

Day 03 Dasada – Bhuj (By Road) (250 Kms. / 4H appx.)
Morning departure for Bhuj, Arrive and check in at Hotel. Later leave for Sightseeing of Bhuj,visiting Kutch Museum founded by MaharaoKhengarji III in 1877 AD. The museum is the oldest museum in Gujarat built in the Italian style and located in picturesque surroundings on the banks of the Hamirsar Lake. The museum has a large collection of Kshatrapa inscriptions, various archaeological objects, arms and specimens of various crafts of the Kutch region. Also visit AinaMahal Palace which was built by Rao Lakhpatji in 1750 AD. It is a two storey building with Darbar Hall, hall of mirrors, and suites for royal family.

The Hall of mirror has white marble walls which are covered with mirrors and gilded ornaments and the floor is lined with tiles. The architecture of the palace is a unique example of an Indian palace built in the mid-eighteenth century with European influence.

Day 04 Bhuj
Early morning proceed to Banni Village to experience lifestyle of various tribes living in various villages of Kutch region – Hodka, Ludiya and Dhordo. These villages are home to various tribes namely Mutvas, Harijans, Jats and Meghwals. Mutvas have been living in northern part of Kutch and form part of muslim community who came to Kutch in search of grass and water for their living stock. Harijans migrated from Marwar in Rajasthan five centuries ago and they live in Banni area.

They live in traditional huts made of grass and dried mud. Jats are also shepherds who earn their livelihood as camel herders and buffalo breeders. They wear huge nose rings which make them very distinct from others. Meghawal tribe mainly lives in Ludiya village and their women wear colorful embroideries along with ornamental jewelry made of gold and silver.

We set out to visit HODKA village for beautiful embroidery and mud work as much as Leather craft. Then visit LUDIYA village known for intricate wood carving embroidery work, mud-work and wall painting for decorating homes. Also visit DHORDO village to forattractive traditional mud houses decorated with mirror work and fine Mutwa embroidery.

Day 05 Bhuj – Rann Utsav (By Road) (90 Kms. / 2H appx.)
Morning leave for having a day filled with experience of Rann Utsav in Kutch.
En-route excursion of Tibal village Nironawhich is the only place in the world where the tradition of Rogan art is still practiced (a method of producing dyes from natural resources and castor oil and creating intricate and long-lasting designs on silk and cotton). Also visit villages of Dhordo and Ludiawhich provide an opportunity to see Bandhani (tie and dye,) block-printing and the intricate embroidery and embellished bead and mirror-work that encapsulates the folk culture of Gujarat.

Then leave to enjoy RannUtsav and upon arrival check in at camp. The remaining day is at your disposal to enjoy RannUtsav which is a celebration of life depicting festivities and culture of Kutch. Day 06 Rann Utsav
The whole day is dedicated to enjoy the celebration in desert. Besides cultural extravaganza, there are many other activities which include horse riding, camel safari, archery. There is also a local handicraft bazaar where visitors can find great bargains.

You can find best souvenirs of silver jewellery, artefacts, seashell toys, embroidery and wood carved furniture as Kutch artisans are known for their master craftsmanship. There is also meditation, yoga center as well as spas for relaxation of visitors.

Day 07 Bhuj – Junagadh (By Road) (360 Kms. / 6H 40M appx.)
Morning leave for Junagarh. Arrive Junagarh and check in at hotel. Later start tour of Junagarh town visiting Mahabat Maqbara which is a stunning mausoleum of one of the Nawabs of Junagadh and one of the Gujarat’s most glorious examples of Indo-Islamic architecture. Also visit Ashoka’s Rock Edicts, located on the route to the Mount Girnar hill.

The fourteen Edicts of Emperor Ashoka are inscribed on the rock edicts. Finally visit Upperkot Fort. The fort was built in 319 BC by Chandragupta Maurya, the great Emporer. This has been rebuilt many times over the centuries.

Day 08 Junagadh – Sasangir (By Road) (60 Kms. / 1H 40M appx.)
Morning, you may visitMountGirnar which is one of the hill in Ahmedabad which is most sacred to the Jain community. This hill rises to a height of more than 600 m, a climb marked by 10,000 stone-steps. On this hill various Hindu and five Jain temples are located.

Later departure for Sasangir and after arrival check in at hotel. Gir National Park is the lion. Besides lion, various variety of wild animals are found in this park which are the Wild boar, Bear, Panther, Jackal, Sambar, Spotted deer, Striped Hyena, Leopard, Nilgai, Chinkara gazelle, Jungle cat, Black napped hare, Common langur, Porcupine, Langur, Blackbuck, Mongoose and the Indian Chousingha, the four horned antelope. The rusty spotted cat has been recorded in the Gir.

During monsoons, about 200 varieties of birds can also be seen in this park including the peafowl, grey partridge, Bonelli’s eagle, crested serpent eagle, jungle bush quail, painted sandgrouse, common green pigeon and several species of doves. Gir is also home of the marsh crocodile, which can be sighted easily in its rivers, particularly in the lake of the Kamaleshwar dam.

Day 09 Sasangir – Diu (By Road) (110 Kms. / 2H 20M appx.)
Early morning go for jungle safari at Sasangir and enjoy wild life and there is a great possibility of a date with Asiatic Lion which will be an event to remember for rest of your life. After breakfast, drive to Diu and upon arrival check in at hotel to relax.

Later you will visit Diu Fort which is a very large and imposing structure, situated on the coast of the island. This fort was constructed between 1535 and 1541 AD after the treaty signed between the Sultan of Gujarat and the Portuguese. Rest of the evening is to relax on the beautiful palm-fringed beach.

Morning leave for Bhavnagar. Arrival at Bhavnagar and check in at the hotel. In the afternoon, visit Historical Takhteshwar Temple, located on a small hill. This temple provides good views of the city and the Gulf of Cambay. Also visit Barton Library which is housed in a beautiful two story building. You may also enjoy evening stroll on the banks of Gaurishankar lake.

Day 11 Bhavnagar – Palitana – Lothal – Ahmedabad ) (278 Kms. / 6H 20M)
Early morning before sunrise, get ready for drive for PalitanaShatrunjaya Hill which is located at a height of 591 metres. The Shatrunjaya Temple is the most sacred temple complex of the Jains and one of the largest of its kind in India.

You need to climb up the hill for about 4 km (600 meters) on a stepped path to Shatrunjaya which means place of victory over worldliness. You may reach the top ind oli or lift chairs or by walking. There are about 863 white marble Jain temples, built over 900 years on the hilltop, each with its own enclosure.

Later continue drive to en-route visiting Lothal known for remains of Indus valley civilization.

Khonoma village is the last village where Nagas fought their last battle against the Britishers in 1879. This village is famous for its citizens protecting their wildlife and maintaining a wild life sanctuary known as Khonoma Nature Conservation and Tragopan Sanctuary KNCTS and for beautiful terraces which grow over 40 types of paddy at different elevations.Afternoon drive back to Kohima and visit to the festival venue. Day 07 Kohima – Johrat (By Road) (200 Kms/ 06 hrs 15 min appx.)
After Breakfast Proceed to Jorhat APPROX. 200 KMS. 6 HRS. Enroute visit Cinnamara Tea Estate first Tea Estate of India and 09 kms away from Jorhat town is the oldest and largest institution dedicated to tea research in the world-Tocklai Tea Research Centre. It was in 1911 when this pioneer institute was incorporated and since then research on tea cultivation and processing has been carried out here, making it a significant contender for nomination as an institution of National Importance. This institute is situated in Assam’s first tea estate, Cinnamora. Later visit Jorhat Gymkhana, second oldest golf course of Asia. Afternoon return back to the hotel for overnight stay. Day 08 Johrat – Majuli Island – Johrat (By Cruise) (1 ½ hrs approx – One Way)

Majuli is the largest fresh Water mid-river deltoid island in the world. It is situated in the upper reaches of the river Brahmaputra in Assam. This Island, with a population of 1.6 Lakhs, majority being tribal, is endowed with rich heritage and has been the abode of the neo-vaishnavite culture. The island is a bio-diversity hotspot and has rich ecology with rare species of flora and fauna. Majuli for the past five centuries has been the cultural capital of Assam. The main depositories of cultural and spiritual heritage are the Sattras, which are just like Gurukul hermitages of yore. Here up to 400 celibates’ stay for life preserving spiritual and cultural heritage, renouncing worldly desires. From the time of the great Vaishnavite renaissance of 14th and 15th century AD, under SrimantaSankardeva, Srimanta Madhab Deva and other saints this island became the seat of Vaishnavite religion, art and culture. After Breakfast Proceed to enjoy Elephant safari to visit central range of the park. Return back to your hotel for breakfast. Afternoon after lunch enjoys your last Jeep safari into the park.

Day 12 Depart Delhi 
Proceed for city tour of New Delhi.

New Delhi stands in formal splendor. It is a city of wide boulevards that offers ever changing perspectives of Lutyen’s landscaped city. It is also a city known for its formal parks, magnificent Parliament Building, the Rashtrapati Bhawan the official residence of the President of India in the 330 acres of land and designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and India Gate. In New Delhi you will also visit Qutab Minar, the 72.5 meter high tower dating back to the 13th century, and Humanyun’s Tomb, which was built in the 16th century and architecturally considered the forerunner of the Taj Mahal. Today we will also visit Agrasen ki Baoli. In the age of the Mahabharata, Raja Agrasen ordered to build this 104 red stoned steps magnificent water temple. This is considered as the first form of step wells and water reservoirs. Not only for its historical value there is some other reason that made ‘Agrasen ki Baoli’ an attractive and adventurous place in Delhi. Morning visit Laxmi Narayan Temple, also known as Birla Mandir, is one of Delhi’s major temples and a major tourist attraction. Built by the industrialst Sh. J.K. Birla in 1939, this beautiful temple is located in the west of Connaught Place.

Then proceed to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib – It is situated in the heart of New Delhi’s Cannaught Place area. Originally this place was the Bungalowhaveli of Mirza Raja Jai Singh, hence the name Bangla Sahib. It’s original name was Jaisinghpura Palace. Mirza Raja Jai Singh was an important military leader of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

Lotus Temple Closed on Mondays – This temple is built in the shape of a lotus flower and is the last of seven Major Bahai’s temples built around the world. Completed in1986 it is set among the lush green landscaped gardens.

The structure is made up of pure white marble The architect Furiburz Sabha chose the lotus as the symbol common to Hinduism, Buddhism, Bhai TempleJainism and Islam. Adherents of any faith are free to visit the temple and pray or meditate.

Later in the evening well in time transfer to airport to board the flight for onward destination.

Fatehpur Sikri – Built by Emperor Akbar in 1569, was the old capital of the Moghuls, which was abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. The sloping levels of the city were connected into terraces which were utilized for various complexes such as Jami masjid, Buland-Darwazah and tomb of Sheikh Salim Chishti; Khass Mahal, Shahi-Bazar, Mina-Bazar, the Panch-Mahal, Khwabgah, Diwan-I-Khass, Anup-Talao, Chaupar and Diwan-I-Am. The efficient system of drainage and water supply adopted here suggest an extremely intelligent town-planning by the Mughal emperor.

After breakfast visit St. Francis Church built in 1503 by Portuguese Franciscan friars where Vasco da Gama was buried for 14 years before his remains were transferred to Lisbon. After some rest visit the Guruvayur Temple (From Outside as Non Hindus are not allowed inside the temple) which is unique, as it is not built in the typical South Indian style of temple architecture. For example, its architecture is not massive or grand but simple in keeping with the style of Kerala houses. Its four gateways lead to the main gopuram (where the idol is installed), protected by a slopping terracotta roof made of Mangalore tiles.

Thrissur literally means “town with the name of Lord Shiva (“Tiru – Shiva – Perur”) and befittingly the town’s most prominent feature is the Vadakkumnathan temple with Shiva as the presiding deity. The city (two hours away from Cochin) had a chequered history and did the Dutch and the British follow developed first by the Zamorins of Calicut then Tippu Sultan of Mysore.

Day 05 Thrissur
After breakfast, small sightseeing of the Archeological Museum and the Art Museum. (Museum remains closed on Monday). The Museum holds many attractive woodcarvings and metal sculptures in addition to an interesting array of Kerala lamps. Today enjoy the Festival activities. Thrissur is famous the world over for its mesmerizing colorful Pooram Festival. This two-century-old festival is a festival of temple elephants decked out in their finest livery and percussion instruments – a 36-hour marathon event. One of the oldest temples in the state of Kerala is the Vadakkumnathan temple with decorative murals and works of art. It is where the Pooram festival, the biggest festival of the region, is celebrated (April/May).

There are several legends and myths behind the festival of Pooram, which literally means a meeting. It was believed that every year the gods and goddesses of the area met together for a day of celebration on Pooram. In the evening of Pooram two lines of 15 elephants from opposing temples face each other. Each elephant apart from being decked up has an umbrella holding priest, a peacock fan carrier and a yak-tail flywhisk wielder. Between the two lines of elephants stand percussionists and a traditional wind orchestra playing the panchvadyam. As they reach a crescendo a new display of brilliant ceremonial umbrellas blossoms over the elephants. This competition of the swift and rhythmic changing of the parasols goes on till the sunsets and the elephants return home. A magnificent fireworks display then lights up the night sky. Devotees and visitors come to Thrissur in thousands for the Pooram. It is a spectacular event and one that lives on in one’s memory forever.

Day 02 Delhi
After breakfast enjoy a full day city tour of Old & New Delhi. Visit the Red Fort the 17th century imposing fortress built in red sandstone is surrounded by a huge 33m high boundary wall. Inside are exquisite palaces and beautiful gardens.

Opposite the Red Fort lies Jama Masjid (Friday Mosque) made of red sandstone and white marble, completed in 1656 at a cost of one million Rupees has perfect proportions. India’s largest mosque where more than 20.000 people can kneel in prayer. The interior of the prayer hall is divided into aisles by arches. The walls and floors are of marble inlay panels.

Also visit the Raj Ghat on the banks of the river Yamuna is Mahatma Gandhi’s Memorial, where he was cremated following his assassination in January 1948. The memorial lies in the midst of landscaped gardens and made of a simple square platform of black marble inscribed with his last words “Hey Ram”. An eternal flame burns 24 hours.

Drive through Lutyens Delhi and see India Gate Built of Bharatpur stone, commemorates the 70,000 Indian soldiers who died in the 1st world war. 13516 names of British and Indian soldiers killed in the Afghan War of 1919 are engraved on the arch and foundations. Photo stop at Rashtrapati Bhawan once the Viceroy’s residence is now the official residence of the President of India.

Later in the afternoon explore New Delhi. Visit the Humayun’s Tomb, built by his wife Haji Begum in the 16th. Century. An early example of Mughal architecture considered the predecessor of the Taj Mahal. The elements in its design a squat building, lighted by high arched entrances, topped by bulbous dome and surrounded by the char bagh (garden divided into quadrants), water channels and fountains.

Later visit the Qutub Minar the landmark of Delhi, a huge tower of victory started in 1199 and completed in 1368. The Minar is 72.5m high with a diameter at the base 14.4m and 2.7m at the top. The tower has 379 steps to the top.

Day 03 Delhi–Lucknow (By Train) / Lucknow-Sravasti (161 km/ 4 hrs Drive)
Morning, transfer to the railway station to board the train Lucknow Swaran Shatabdi at 0615 Hrs to Lucknow. On arrival in Lucknow at 1230 Hrs drive to Sravasti.

Sravasti seems to have fascinated Lord Buddha very much for he spent over 1/4th of his life over here, recollecting the Jatakas or the stories of his previous births. Today Sravasti is full of old stupas, majestic monasteries and several temples. The city is believed to be founded by Mythological King Sravasti and has old stupas, majestic monasteries and several; temples.

Day 04 Sravasti – Lumbini (By Road)
Morning visit the stupa and monasteries town and then drive to Lumbini. Prince Siddhartha was born here in about BC 563.

Lumbini – a place in the South-Western Terai of Nepal, evokes a kind of holy sentiment to the millions of Buddhists all over the world-as do the Jerusalem to Christians and Mecca to Muslims. Lumbini is the place Lord Buddha – the apostle of peace and the light of Asia, was born in 623 B. C. On arrival, check in at the Hotel.

Later visit Sacred Garden, a small complex lying at the southern end of Lumbini. It marks the place where the Buddha is reputed to have been born and contains all of the area’s important historical monuments and archaeological finds. You will visit Maya Devi Mandir, believed to date as far as the 3rd or 4th century BC. Peepul tree, under which Maya Devi is believed to give birth, Ashokan Pillar and Pushkarni.

One of the most astonishing cattle fairs to be held in Asia in terms of its size and scale. The sleepy little town of Sonepur (22 km. from Patna) is thrown into frenzy on Kartik Purnima, in the month of November, this fair commemorates Harihar Nath. Also known as Harihar Kshetra Mela, the Sonepur Cattle Fair once used to attract traders from places as distant as Central Asia. Till date, it is the biggest cattle fair of Asia and stretches on from fifteen days to one month.
Another major attraction is the sight of numerous elephants, beautifully decorated for the purpose of sale. However, people from forest departments and those involved with logging operations mostly purchase these elephants. Also, a large number of horses are also traded at the Sonepur Mela. Folk shows, games and jugglers further add to the attraction of the Sonepur Cattle Fair. Later in the evening drive back to Patna.

Day 09 Patna – Bodhgaya (By Road) (164 kms/ 4 hrs Approx)
After early morning breakfast drive to Nalanda, a great Buddhist centre for more than 1000 years until the monastery, school and library were sacked and burnt by Muslims. The Chinese scholar Hiuen Tsan stayed here for 5 years in the early 7th cent. AD. There were 10.000 monks and students in residence. The remains are still extensive and include the “Great Stupa” with steps, terraces and a few still intact stupas around it.

Further drive to Rajgir or Rajagriha. It was the capital of Magadhan empire before Pataliputra occupied from 1800 BC. Visit Gridhkuta, the “Hill of Vultures”. It was one of Buddha’s favorite places where he delivered many important sermons. Also visit Saptaparni Cave on Vaibhara Hill. The first Buddhist council was held here and Buddha’s teachings were written down for the first time. Visit Vishwa Shanti stupa & Venuvana, the bamboo grove where Buddha spent some time.
Later continue your drive to Bodhgaya. It was here that Siddhartha meditated for 48 days under a “Bodhi” tree and was enlightened on the 49th day and became Buddha, the enlightened one!!!

Varanasi, or Benaras, (also known as Kashi) is one of the oldest living cities in the world. Varanasi`s Prominence in Hindu mythology is virtually unrevealed. Mark Twain, the English author and literature, who was enthralled by the legend and sanctity of Benaras, once wrote: “Benaras is older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend and looks twice as old as all of them put together”. According to the ‘Vamana Purana’, the Varuna and the Assi rivers originated from the body of the primordial Person at the beginning of time itself. The tract of land lying between them is believed to be ‘Varanasi’, the holiest of all pilgrimages.

To every visitor; Varanasi offers a breathtaking experience. The rays of the dawn shimmer -ing across the Ganges… the high-banks; the temples and shrines along the banks bathed in a golden hue …soul stirring hymns and mantras along with the fragrance of incense filling the air…and the refreshing dip in the holy waters gently splashing at the Ghats. Varanasi – the land where experience and discovery reach the ultimate bliss.

Sarnath one of Buddhism’s major centers in India. It was here that Buddha gave his first Sermon after attaining Nirvana. Tourist Attractions – Mehrangarh Fort It is situated on a 150m high hill. Rao Jodha, the then chief of Rathore clan, constructed it in 1459. There are a number of attractions within the fort like several palaces, galleries, a museum, temples and so on, other attraction Jaswant Thada, Clock Tower and Sardar Market. Overnight at Jodhpur.

Day 08 Jodhpur – Ranakpur – Udaipur (By Road) (264 kms / 5 hrs approx)
Morning after breakfast leave to Udaipur enroute visiting Ranakpur, on arrival transfer to hotel.

Ranakpur – The main tourist attractions of Ranakpur are its famous temples. Situated approximately 90km from Udaipur, the Ranakpur temple complex is a must see. The main Chaumukha temple (Four-Faced Temple) is dedicated to Adinath, the first tirthankar. The two other Jain temples in the complex are dedicated to Neminath and Parasnath. There is also the Sun temple and the Amba Mata temple near the main complex.

Arrive Udaipur and go for city tour of Udaipur.

Udaipur: One of the most romantic cities in Rajasthan, Udaipur is also known as the city of lakes. The marble palaces, beautifully laid out gardens and the lakes make Udaipur seem almost like a mirage. The City of Dawn, surrounded by the ancient Aravali Mountains and set on the edge of three lakes, is a brilliant kaleidoscope of narrow lanes flanked by bright stalls, gardens, lakes, palaces and temples. ‘Udaipur’, known as the lovely lakeside capital of Mewar. Other attractions: – City Palace & Museum, Saheliyon-Ki-Bari, Pratap Memorial, Pichhola Lake, Gulab Bagh. Overnight at hotel.

Day 09 Udaipur – Pushkar (By Road) (250 Kms / 5 hrs approx)
In morning after breakfast, drive to Pushkar. On arrival, transfer to hotel.
PM – Visit Pushkar Festival. Overnight at hotel.

Day 10 Pushkar
After breakfast sightseeing of Pushkar.

Pushkar: Located just 11 km from Ajmer, Pushkar is a sacred little town in Rajasthan. Pushkar is famous for its scenic beauty and more than 400 temples. Pushkar has a number of exciting tourists’ attractions including the famous Pushkar Lake and Brahma Temple, Savitri Temple, Rangji or Rangnath Temple. Overnight at hotel.

Day 13 Pushkar – Jaipur (By Road) (146 kms / 3 hrs approx)

Jaipur – Popular in the name of Pink City, Jaipur is and important destination in Golden Triangle of Indian tourism. Founded in 1727 AD by one of the greatest rulers of the Kachhawaha clan, the astronomer king Sawai Jai Singh. The pink color was used at the time of making to create an impression of red sandstone buildings of Mughal cities – and repainted in 1876, during the visit of the Prince of Wale Excursion to Amber Fort. Elephant ride from the foothills of the Aravallis to the fort entrance.

Amber Fort: At a distance of 11 kms from Jaipur, Amber was the ancient capital of Jaipur state. Construction of the fort began in 1592 by Raja Man Singh, the Rajput commander of Akbar‘s army and is a superb example of Rajput architecture. Overnight at hotel.

Day 14 Jaipur – Fatehpur Sikri – Agra (By Road) (235 kms / 4.5 hrs approx)
After breakfast leave by private car to Agra enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri.

Fatehpur Sikri – Built by Emperor Akbar in 1569, was the old capital of the Moghuls, which was abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. The sloping levels of the city were connected into terraces which were utilised for various complexes such as Jami masjid, Buland-Darwazah and tomb of Sheikh Salim Chishti; Khass Mahal, Shahi-Bazar, Mina-Bazar, the Panch-Mahal, Khwabgah, Diwan-i-Khass, Anup-Talao, Chaupar and Diwan-i-Am. The efficient system of drainage and water-supply adopted here suggest an extremely intelligent town-planning by the Mughal emperor.
Arrive Agra and go for city tour of Agra.

Taj Mahal, which was constructed by Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Construction of the Taj began in 1631 and was not completed until 1653. Overnight at hotel.

Day 15 Agra – Delhi (By Road) (208 kms & 4 hrs approx)/ Depart Delhi
Early morning visit Red Fort, which was built by Emperor Akbar in 1565.
Return back to hotel for shower and breakfast.

Later, check out from the hotel and straight drive towards Delhi. Arrive and transfer to Delhi international airport for flight back home.

Day 01 Arrive Kolkata (By Flight)
Fly to Kolkata. On arrival in Kolkata you will be greeted and escorted by our Tour’s staff to your hotel. On arrival, check in the hotel. (Room will be available from 1200 Noon). Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02 Kolkata
In the morning after breakfast visit the Famous Jain Temples of Kolkata, The flower Market of Kolkata, The Howard Bridge, The cantilevered bridge, also known as Rabindra Setu, is similar in size to the Sydney Harbour Bridge but carries a flow of traffic which Sydney could never dream of . It is the busiest bridge in the world. Later drive to the Kali ma temple located near the banks of the River Ganges at Kali Ghat. According to popular legend the Lord Shiva’s consort sati killed herself by burning herself as her parents humiliated Lord Shiva, Shiva reached too late and then he picked up her charred body and began the ‘tandav’ the dance of cosmic destruction. To prevent the destruction of the world Lord Vishnu chopped Sati’s charred body into 51 pieces that fell in different parts of the earth and a part fell on the banks of the Ganges and thus the name Kali Ghat and consequently the name Kolkata.

Also visit Victoria Memorial that is a huge white-marble structure and the most enduring of remains of the British Raj in India. Built by Lord Curzon in memory of the popular monarch, Queen Victoria, it is a wonderful example of the Western style of architecture. It has been now converted in a museum that houses the most impressive collection of memorabilia from the days of Raj. The manuscripts, paintings and sculptures here are outstanding. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 03 Kolkata – Bhubaneshwar (By Flight)
After breakfast transfer to the Airport to board the flight to Bhubaneshwar. On arrival, transfer to the Hotel and check in. Bhubaneshwar, the ancient capital of the Kalinga empire, and now the capital of Orissa, It’s history goes back over 2000 years. “Bhubaneshwar” means the “abode of God” or “master of the universe” and it was also, once known as the ‘Cathedral of the East’, on account of the large number of shrines. At one time, the Bindu Sagar tank was bordered by over 7000 temples. Of these, 500 still survive, all built in the extravagant Oriya style. Later after some rest visit the Lingaraja Temple, a prime example of Indian architecture, in its most mature and fully developed state. The great Lingaraja soars above the city, and dominates the landscape. Proceed to Parasurameswara Temple, built in 650 AD, is one of the few oldest surviving temples in Bhubaneswar. Also visit Rajarani Temple, built in the 11th century, famous for its ornate deul, or compass, decorated with some of the most impressive Oriya temple architecture. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 04 Bhubaneshwar
After breakfast drive for the excursion to the caves of Udayagiri (hill of sunrise) and Kandagiri (broken hill). The twin hills of Kumargiri and Kumarigiri known as Khandagiri and Udaygiri contain varieties of rock cut caves, built mainly for the jain monks around 1st 2nd century B.C. The thirteen years lithic record of King Kharavela engraved in Hatigumpha (elephant cave) is a magnificent specimen of Pali records so far found in India.

Day 05 Bhubaneshwar – Puri (By Road) (62 Kms. / 02 hrs. appx.)
After breakfast drive to Puri enroute visit Konark, one of the most vivid architectural treasures of Hindu India and a World Heritage site. The Sun temple is the last phase of the temple architecture of the Kalinga dynasty (13 Century). Dedicated to the Sun God “Surya”, the temple is in the form of a chariot. It has 12 wheels, which denote the 12 months in a year and 7 horses denote the 7 days in a week. Later visit the Pipli Village. Pipli in Orissa is known for its applique work. Applique work forms a major part of the handicrafts of Orissa. The applique work is a piece of art that is done by cutting beautiful pattern on a piece of cloth. Beautiful patterns depicting flowers, animals, etc are made, which are then stitched beautifully on another piece of cloth. In Pipli, one can across rows of shops flaunting the applique work. The applique work in Pipli includes bed covers, letter cases, cushion covers, wall hangings, pillow covers, bed sheets, hand bags, canopies, garden umbrellas, etc. On arrival in Puri check in at the hotel. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 06 Puri
After breakfast drive for the excursion to Chilika Lake. Spread over an area of 1,100-sq-km, the glorious stretch of the Chilika is Asia’s largest brackish water lake. Home to thousands of colourful birds throughout the year, it is particularly noisy with the din of the raucous influx of migratory birds that descend on it from as far off as Siberia in winter. Later derive back to Puri and visit important temples like Gundicha, Lokanath, Sunaragauranga, Daria Mahabir and Tota Gopinatt. There are also a number of holy tanks like Narendra, Markandeya, Sweta Ganga and Indradyumna. There are many Monasteries locally known as Mathas also of touristic interest. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 07 Puri
After breakfast visit Jagannath Temple, an attraction for the Hindus. Non-Hindus are not allowed into the temple. From the terrace of a Library opposite the temple, you can have a view of the inner temple. Also witness the famous festival of Puri Rath Yatra – it is a chariot festival in which images of Lord Jagannath, his sister Subhadra and his brother Balbhadra are taken out in procession in 03 chariots. The main chariot is 14 mts high, 10 mts wide with 16 wheels. The ropes of the chariots are pulled by million of devotees. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 08 Puri
Day is free to explore the beaches. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 09 Puri-Bhubaneshwar (62 Km/ 02 hrs)/Bhubaneshwar-CCU (By Flight)
After breakfast drive to Bhubaneshwar Airport to board the flight to Kolkata. On arrival transfer to the hotel. Overnight in the hotel.
