Day 01 Arrive Delhi (By Flight)
Arrival in Delhi in the morning. Breakfast in hotel and some rest. Than Delhi sightseeing tour of main highlights – Jama Masjid, Red Fort, Lotus Temple and New Delhi. Overnight in Delhi.

Day 02 Delhi – Srinagar (By Flight)
Morning flight to Srinagar earliest possible. Continue with Srinagar tour – Wooden mosque, Old Town, Shalimar Gardens ,Nishat Bagd gardens, Garden on the mountain slope forgot the name, but third famous garden of Srinagar. Boat on Dal lake.

Srinagar:- Srinagar is located in the picturesque Kashmir valley and one of the most beautiful cities in India in terms of natural splendor. The tourist attractions of Srinagar are mainly related to natural beauty like lakes, gardens, etc

Shalimar Gardens:- Shalimar Gardens are the piece de resistance of Srinagar’s many gardens and parks. This royal garden was laid out four hundred years ago by the Mughal Emperor Jehangir for his wife.

Nishat Bagh Gardens :- Nishat Bagh, though smaller than Shalimar, is more intensely beautiful. Descending in tiers to the Dal’s edge, Nishat is well known for its stately chinar plane trees, imported to Kashmir from distant Persia by the Mughals. Many of the giant chinar trees have been planted by the Mughals.

Dal Lake is a major tourist attraction in Srinagar. Located on the eastern end of the city, the Dal Lake comprises of a series of lakes, including the Nagin Lake some 8 kms from the city center. One can enjoy the panoramic view of the mountains dotting Srinagar from this lake. You can enjoy taking a ride on traditional Kashmiri boats or the Shikaras to discover the intricate network of waterways of this lake.

Day 03 Srinagar – Gulmarg – Srinagar (By Road) (50 Kms. / 2 hrs. – One Way)
Early morning boat to Vegetable floating market. Than tour to Gulmarg resort and hike in the valley to Gondola. Gondola ride to 2nd level top. Return to Srinagar.

Day 04 Srinagar – Sonamarg – Kargil   (By Road) (204 Kms. / 6.5 hrs. appx.)
Drive to Kargil on the way Sonmarg valley with hike to Thajiwas glacier ponies optional. Crossing Zoji La pass. Overnight in Kargil.

Sonamarg: is situated at a height of 2740 m in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Sonamarg is a small and beautiful hill resort. Sonamarg literally means the ‘Meadow of Gold’ and is known so due to the flowers that wraps the meadow in the spring. In the earlier days, Sonamarg lies on the main trading route into central Asia. Sonamarg is the last major point in the Kashmir valley before the Zoji La pass into Ladakh. At the pass, the green and lush Kashmiri landscape changes to the barren and dry landscape of Ladakh. Sonamarg offers various places of interest to the tourists like Nilagrad, Bisansar Lake & Krishnasar Lake and Nichnai Pass.

Day 05 Kargil – Suru Valley – Kargil
Long day trip to Suru valley and Parkachik glacier photo. Hike crossing Lago La pass from Parkachik to Panikar. Return to Kargil

Suru Valley – One of the most beautiful regions of Ladakh, the Suru Valley is the heartland of Kargil district. Nestling along the northern foothills of the Great Himalayan Wall, it extends from Kargil town, first southward for a length of about 75 kms up to the expanse around Panikhar, and thence eastward for nearly 65 kms, up to the foot of the Penzila watershed, where the Suru River rises.

Parkachik Glacier, spilling down the Nun-Kun slopes, to collapse into the Suru River forming a huge icefall. One can walk up to the glacier across a good suspension footbridge over the Suru. Some mountaineers use this glacier to approach the difficult north face route to scale Mt. Nun. The upper Suru Valley also offers excellent camping options.

Day 06 Kargil – Lamayuru (By Road) (108 Kms. / 5 hrs. appx)
Drive to Lamayuru – Visit Mulbekh Buddha Carving and Shergol Gompa. Late afternoon visit Moonscape landscape and Lamayuru monastery. Overnight in Lamayuru.

Lamayuru, Belongs to Dripung Kagyu Red Hat like Phyang. The oldest structure in Lamayuru is the Singey Lhakhang built by the founder of Alchi Lotsava Rinchen bzangpo in 11th century. After visiting Lamayuru we proceed further to Leh enrote visiting Ridzong Gompa, known as the paradise for Meditation.

Day 07 Lamayuru – Leh (By Road) (120 Kms. / 4 hrs. appx.)
Drive to Leh, on the way visit Alchi Gompa, then in afternoon rafting on Zanskar river. Overnight in Leh.

Leh town offers a number of sightseeing options for the visitors. A historic town that served as the royal capital of the Old Kingdom, it is dominated by the nine-storey palace built by King Singge Namgyal in the grand tradition of Tibetan architecture, which is said to have inspired the famous Potala in Lhasa built about half a century later.

Day 08 Leh
Leh sightseeing tour with some free time for walking around can finalize the permits for Nubra and Pangong lake. Overnight in Leh.

Day 09 Leh
Monastery day – visit to Shey palace and gompa, Thikshey Gompa.
Return to Leh. Overnight in Leh.

Day 10 Leh – Pangong Lake – Leh (By Road) (150 Kms. / 5 hrs – One Way)
Long tour to Pangon Lake start early crossing Chang La pass. 4-5 hours photo stops and walking along the coast including picnic by the lake. Return to Leh arriving with the sunset.

Day 11 Leh – Nubra Valley – Leh (By Road) (110 Kms. / 4 hrs. – One Way)
Long day tour to Nubra valley crossing Khardung La pass, visit monastery and Big Buddha statue. Visit Sand dune district and take 30 min camel ride in the dunes. Return to Leh.

Nubra Valley is situated about 150 km north of Leh, the capital town of Ladakh, India. Its name is derived from Ldumra the valley of flowers. The average altitude of the valley is about 10,000 ft. above the sea level. The common way to access this valley is to travel over the Khardung La from Leh where one will first encounter the Shuok Valley. To enter the Nubra valley.

Morning flight to Delhi.
On arrival, visit Qutub Minar, Rajghat, India Gate, Parliament, Humayuns Tomb.

Day 02 Delhi – Leh  (By Flight)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport to catch a flight to Leh. Arrival in Leh, meeting with assistance and transfer to the hotel. Time available to acclimatise. In the afternoon, excursion to Shankar Monastery and return on foot along the oasis of Leh.

Day 03 Leh
Departure to reach Thiksey Monastery to attend the morning prayer, at the end of which you can visit the monastery, one of the oldest and most fascinating of the “Little Tibet”.

Breakfast in restaurant and continuation for the visit of the Stok Palace with the museum of the royal family.

Continue to Shey Palace which houses one of the largest Buddha statues in Ladakh.
At the end, return to the hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 04 Leh
After breakfast, visit of the upper Indus Valley with the Hemis monasteries built in a lateral valley at 4000 meters above sea level; the Cheemre monastery that stands out on a rock between rapeseed and barley fields; the Thag Thog monastery, one of the oldest in Ladakh; the Stakna monastery located in the center of the Indus Valley in a strategic position. Return to Leh.

During the Thag Thog Festival there will be celebrations, during which the monks of Ladakh in traditional costumes and masks, recall the Buddhist deities to the sound of ancient instruments and with propitiatory dances.

Day 05 Leh – Nurla (By Road) (83 Kms. / 1H 45M appx.)
After breakfast, departure for Nurla. coasting the Indus River in a westerly direction. Visit of the Lamayuru monastery 3900 meters above sea level located in a desert lunar landscape in the upper Indus Valley.

Visit to the monastery of the “Berretti Rossi” school built in the 11th century and linked to the great master Naropa. Stop at the Rizong monastery continuing to Nurla.

Arrival at 3,041 meters above sea level and accommodation in a hotel, surrounded by mountains of over 6000 meters.

Day 06 Nurla – Leh  (By Road) (83 Kms. / 1H 45M appx.)
After the First Visit of the eleventh-century monastery-fortress of Alchi which houses the most important treasures of Buddhist culture in Ladakh: wall frescoes and wooden sculptures of great artistic value. Free time for excursions on the banks of the Indus river. Return to Leh, hotel accommodation.

Day 07 Leh – Nubra Valley (By Road) (160 Kms. / 5H 15M appx.)
After breakfast, departure for the Nubra Valley along the highest road in the world that climbs the Khardung La 5603 meters above sea level, from which you can enjoy the splendid view of the peaks of over 7000 meters of the Karakorum. Visit to the monastery of Dishket near the dunes of the Nubra Valley.

Day 08 Nubra Valley – Leh (By Road) (160 Kms. / 5H 15M appx.)

Day 09 Leh – Tso Moriri (By Road) (220 Kms. / 5H 20M appx.)

Day 10 Tso Moriri – Sarchu (By Road) (228 Kms. / 5H 50M appx.)
After breakfast, the journey continues along the high altitude desert plateau to reach Manali, in the Himachal Pradesh region, among snow-capped mountains, carriageways, desert valleys and cultivated oases. Arrival in Sarchu.

Day 11 Sarchu – Manali (By Road) (223 Kms. / 5H 40M appx.)
After breakfast, crossing the 4890 meters of the Baralacha La pass, you will descend to the 2050 meters of Manali. The route is one of the most suggestive that can be done through the Indian Himalayas.

From the arid high altitude desert we descend into the dense forest overcoming impressive valleys and rivers. Arrival in Manali and hotel accommodation. Full board.

Day 12 Manali
After breakfast, Manali is a town immersed in an alpine landscape, with small stone houses and coniferous forests. Visit of the main temple of the city, the Dhungri Van Vihar Mandir and free time for relaxation, purchases and optional visits.

Day 13 Manali – Dharamsala (By Road) (240 Kms. / 6H 20M appx.)

Day 15 Amritsar – Delhi (By Flight)
After breakfast, excursion to the Golden Temple one of the most interesting and sacred monuments in all of India, the heart of the Sikh religion, to participate in the ceremony in which the sacred book Guru Granth Sahib is exhibited in the main temple in the center of the lake .

At the end of the visits transfer to the airport and departure with the direct flight to Delhi.

Day 04 Sri Nagar
Sightseeing day for Srinagar: throne of Solomon Shankaracharya Temple, museum of Srinagar, Martand Sun Temple. Overnight.

Shankaracharya Temple – One of the most revered Hindu pilgrimage destinations in Srinagar, the Shankaracharya Temple is located atop a hill known as ‘Takht-e-Suleiman’. The ancient temple stands at a height of about 1100 feet above the surface level of the main Srinagar city. A visit to this sacred temple involves a trek to the top of the hills. Devoted to the worship of Lord Shiva, Shankaracharya Temple is believed to have been built by Raja Gopadatya in 371 BC. During those times, the temple was known as Gopadri. The great saint Shankaracharya is supposed to have stayed here when he visited Kashmir in the early part of the ninth century with the primary aim of spreading the philosophy of Vedanta. This perhaps led to the renaming of the temple as Shankaracharya Temple. Shankaracharya was also instrumental in popularizing the worship of Lord Shiva in Jammu and Kashmir.

Shri Pratap Singh Museum – The Museum set up by; and named after the ruling maharaja as Shri Pratap Singh SPS Museum is located outside the old Srinagar city in an upcoming suburban Lal Mandi area which was becoming increasing popular with the city elite for house-building during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Lamayuru: Often called moonland, Lamayuru has some beautiful mountains capes formed by a drained lake that are unique to the place. The slopes with their soft and creamy appearance were once working as walls of the enormous lake. Lamayuru’s Yung-Drung Gompa stands precariously perched a little high up the village. Visit the gompa, its prayer hall and its monastic school where children study Tibetan scriptures. Lamayuru is also the starting point for the trek to Padum over Sengge La.

Day 07 Lamayuru – Uleytokpo (By Road) (60 Kms. / 03 hrs. appx)
Drive through the village Mulbek. Statue of Maitreya Buddha. Stop and overnight in the eco-resort Uleytokpo on the banks of the Indus River. Overnight at hotel.

Day 06 Uleytokpo – Alchi – Likir – Leh (By Road) (83 km/ 1 hrs. 50 min.)
After breakfast enjoy the visit to the village Alchi, one of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh. Alchi, nestled between majestic mountains and rolling wheat fields. After the sightseeing, drive to Leh. The capital of Ladakh, at one time was a major stop on the Asian” Silk Route. Stroll along the main bazaar, observing the varied crowd and peering into the Curio shops is an entrancing experience.

On the way to Leh, Visit the village of Nimo and stop for photo session at River Zanskar Proceed further to visit Basgo Fort & Likir. Likir is situated in a side valley about 05 Kms from main Srinagar – Leh highway. Likir belongs to Ge-Lung-Pa sect; the monastery also maintains and runs a school for young Lamas. Day 07 Leh
After breakfast, drive for an excursion tour to Spituk.
Later in the afternoon, visit Shankar Gompa. Overnight at the hotel.

Shankar Gompa, which is towards the north of the Town, The monastery is only 130yrs old and is the seat for the head lama of Spitok Monastery.Later visit Shanti Stupa, the Japanese for World Peace built the Shanti Stupa, at Changspa, on the hilltop, and was inaugurated by Dalai Lama in 1992. It’s state of the art work attracts a lot of tourists to Ladakh and is spectacular to watch. From there one can see spectacular view of Leh town and Indus valley.

Day 08 Leh – Nubra Valleyx` (By Road) (116 Kms. / 4 hrs. appx.)
We continue our journey through the Nubra valley crossing Khardong-La pass 5,600 m, the highest road in the world from where you can see the mountain ranges of Karakorum. The Shyok and Nubra river, which have their origins in the Siachen Glacier 7,500 m, meet in this valley. The caravans of the famous Silk Road passed through this valley to Kashgar, and Sinkian Yarkland. We arrived at Gangles, the highest village in the Valley of Leh 4,200 m.

Day 09 Nubra Valley – Leh (By Road) (116 Kms. / 4 hrs. appx.)
In the morning, visit the famous Shey Palace 12 km from Leh worshiping a statue of Buddha covered in gold 7.5 m. We continue to Thiksey Monastery 20 km, one of the most beautiful in Leh, which belongs to the Gelukpa order. Finally we visit the Hemis monastery 20 km, the largest and richest in the area. Overnight in Leh.

Day 10 Leh
After breakfast visit Thakthok, Chemday and Stakna monasteries. Takthok Thakthok Monastery is situated in the village of Sakti. Before the monastery was founded there was a meditation cave of a Mahaadiddha called Kunga Phuntsog. Chemday Monastery is situated 40 Kms east of Leh. The monastery is situated there on the mountain side and was founded 365 years ago by Lama Tagsang Raschen with the Dharmaraja Singey Namgial acting as patron. There is a sacred image of Padmasambhava to be seen there, one storey in height. There are, furthermore, many shrines. A custom exists whereby every year on the 28th & 29th days of the 9th Tibetan month sacred dances are performed in association with the festival of an initiatory ritual. The successive reincarnations of Lama Tagsang Raschen act as the incumbents. Stakna gompa which is famous for its numerous statues and paintings Overnight at the hotel.

Day 11 Leh – Delhi (By Flight) / Delhi–Agra–Delhi (205 Km/ 4 hrs- One Way)

Agra -Historians suggest Agra to be the Agravana in the epic Mahabharata. It is expected to be known as Agralapura during the medieval age. An archaeological fact pushes the existence of Agra back to three million years. The Lodhi dynasty ruled over Agra for a long time. It was in the onset of the sixteenth century that the Mughals took over the ruling of Agra from the hands of Lodhis.

Taj Mahal Shah Jahan the great emperor and a great builder constructed Taj Mahal in the loving memory of his beloved wife Anjuman Bano Begum. Shah Jahan met this beautiful girl in his young age and later gets married with her. Taj Mahal completed in 1653 A.D. finished in by white marble, it is perhaps India most fascinating and beautiful monument.

The Gaiety Theatre is also situated there. People walk up and down the Mall slowly, stopping to gossip, as it is the main meeting place for everyone.

Kullu:- Kullu was once known as Kulanthpitha, which means the end of the habitable world. Beyond rose the forbidding heights of the Greater Himalayas, and by the banks of the shining river Beas, lay the fabled ‘Silver Valley’. Here is the core of an intricate web of numerous valleys – each of which is a visual delight and seems more beautiful than the other. The mountain scapes remain spectacular whether in brilliant sunshine or in the haze of the mist. The ‘Silver Valley’ has nature’s treasures that lie carelessly scattered as flowers on the high meadows.

Manali: The landscape here is breath taking. One sees well-defined snow capped peaks, the Beas River with its clear water meanders through the town. On the other side are deodar and pine trees, tiny fields and fruit orchards. Lamayuru: Often called moonland, Lamayuru has some beautiful mountains capes formed by a drained lake that are unique to the place. The slopes with their soft and creamy appearance were once working as walls of the enormous lake. Lamayuru’s Yung-Drung Gompa stands precariously perched a little high up the village. Visit the gompa, its prayer hall and its monastic school where children study Tibetan scriptures. Lamayuru is also the starting point for the trek to Padum over Sengge La.

Day 11 Leh
After breakfast excursion to Phyang and Spituk overnight at hotel.

Phyang monastery: – It is about 17km. west of Leh is remarkably built on the hilltop, similar to the Likir monastery. This monastery belongs to the Degungpa Order. It was the first monastery, which introduced the Degungpa teaching of ‘Skyob Jigsten Gonbo’ in Ladakh that was founded by Chosje Danma Kunga, during the reign of King Jamyang Namgyal in the 16th Century A.D. It has about 50 monks in residence. Phyang also has a festival called ‘Phyang Tseruk’ on the 2nd & 3rd of the 6th month of Tibetan Calendar.

Spituk:- The gompa stands prominently on the top of a hillock,8 Kms.from Leh, and commands a panaoramic view of the Indus Valley for miles. Many icons of Buddha and five thankas are found in 15th century monastery.There is also a collection of ancient masks, antique arms, and an awe inspiring image of Mahakal.

Day 12 Leh
After breakfast morning drive to Pangong Lake.
PM: Return back from Pangong Lake. overnight at hotel.

More About Leh:- Leh is the fascinating capital of the Autonomous Hill Council of Ladakh, also known as Little Tibet. The important monasteries to visit in and around Leh are Shey, Thiksey, Hemis, Spituk, Samkhar as well as the Shanti Stupa, Stok Palace and main Bazaar. The Leh palace dominating the town was the former home of the Namgyal Dynasty. The Likir Gompa is Located at a distance of approximately 62 km to the west of Leh, the Likir Monastery dates back to the year 1065. It was during the reign of the fifth king of Ladakh, Lhachen Gyalpo, that Lama Duwang Chosje was offered land for building a monastery. A great champion of meditation, the Lama blessed the site and the monastery was built. The name Likir means “The Naga – Encircled”. The Likir Gompa at Ladakh was so named, as it stands encircled by the bodies of the two great serpent spirits, the Naga-rajas, Nanda and Taksako.

Alchi -Gompa of Ladakh at a distance of 67 kms from Leh dates back to the year 1000 A.D. Built by Rinchen Zangpo, it consists of a number of temples including Rinchen Lhakhang at Lotsa Lhakhang. Alchi Gompa comprises of other temples such as Jamyang Lhakhang Manjusri temple and the Sumtsag Lhakhang. There are a number of Buddhists images and statues of their attendants too in the monastery.

After visit further drive to Lamayuru. On arrival check into your respective tent, overnight at tent.

Shankaracharya Temple – One of the most revered Hindu pilgrimage destinations in Srinagar, the Shankaracharya Temple is located atop a hill known as ‘Takht-e-Suleiman’. The ancient temple stands at a height of about 1100 feet above the surface level of the main Srinagar city. A visit to this sacred temple involves a trek to the top of the hills. Devoted to the worship of Lord Shiva, Shankaracharya Temple is believed to have been built by Raja Gopadatya in 371 BC. During those times, the temple was known as Gopadri. The great saint Shankaracharya is supposed to have stayed here when he visited Kashmir in the early part of the ninth century with the primary aim of spreading the philosophy of Vedanta. This perhaps led to the renaming of the temple as Shankaracharya Temple. Shankaracharya was also instrumental in popularizing the worship of Lord Shiva in Jammu and Kashmir.

Mughal Gardens: -With terraced lawns, Cascading fountains, Paint-box bright flowerbeds with the panorama of the Dal in Front of them – three Mughal Garden of Nishat and Shalimar are the Mughal Emperors Concept of Paradise and are today very popular places for the Picnics and Excursion.

Nishat Bagh Gardens: Nishat Bagh, though smaller than Shalimar, is more intensely beautiful. Descending in tiers to the Dal’s edge, Nishat is well known for its stately chinar (plane) trees, imported to Kashmir from distant Persia by the Mughals. Many of the giant chinar trees have been planted by the Mughals.

Dal Lake is a major tourist attraction in Srinagar. Located on the eastern end of the city, the Dal Lake comprises of a series of lakes, including the Nagin Lake some 8 kms from the city center. You can enjoy taking a ride on traditional Kashmiri boats or the Shikaras to discover the intricate network of waterways of this lake.

Sonamarg: is situated at a height of 2740 m in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Sonamarg is a small and beautiful hill resort. Sonamarg literally means the ‘Meadow of Gold’ and is known so due to the flowers that wraps the meadow in the spring. In the earlier days, Sonamarg lies on the main trading route into central Asia. Sonamarg is the last major point in the Kashmir valley before the Zoji La pass into Ladakh. At the pass, the green and lush Kashmiri landscape changes to the barren and dry landscape of Ladakh. Kargil Town & Around – Kargil town (2,704 m), situated midway between Srinagar (204 Kms) and Leh, (234 kms) on the Srinagar-Leh highway, is the second largest urban centre (approx. 8,000 inhabitants) of Ladakh and headquarters of Kargil district.

New part of Kargil town A quiet town now, in the past it served as an important trade and transit centre for the Central-Asian merchants due to its unique equidistant location (about 200-230 kms) from Srinagar, Leh and Skardo, all well known trading outposts on the old trade route network. Numerous caravans carrying exotic merchandise transited in the town on their way to and from China, Tibet, Yarkand, Kashmir and Baltistan. Since 1975, travellers of various nationalities have replaced traders of the past and Kargil has regained its importance as a centre of travel-related activities.

Overview of Kargil town & adjoining villages Being located in lap of the Himalayas, Kargil serves as an important base for undertaking adventure tourism and trips to the exotic Zanskar Valley and other Himalayan regions. Visitors travelling between Srinagar and Leh have to make a night halt here before starting the second leg of their journey.

Lamayuru, Belongs to Dripung Kagyu (Red Hat) like Phyang. The oldest structure in Lamayuru is the Singey Lhakhang built by the founder of Alchi Lotsava Rinchen bzangpo in 11th century. After visiting Lamayuru we proceed further to Leh enrote visiting Ridzong Gompa, known as the paradise for Meditation.

Renowned as paradise for meditation, Rizong Monastery overlooks the Indus Valley. The monastery holds special significance for Tibetan Buddhists as it is believed Guru Padmasambhava had meditated in the caves around Rizong. Located 73 km from Leh in Ladakh district in Jammu and Kashmir, the monastery belongs to Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism, also known as the Yellow Hat sect. The monastery was founded by Lama Tsultim Nima in 1831.

Spituk monastery was built in 15th century during the reign of Grags ‘bum-lde, these new Gelug-pa monastery was built like fortress on the summit of crags. Spituk lies some 5 kms south of Leh. Nesting at the foot of the crags are the flat-topped houses which go to form the village of Spituk.

Hemis Monastery, 40 kms towards the south-east of the main city of Leh is the largest as well as the most well-known monastery (Gompa) in Ladakh. This monastery was built by under the reigns of the King Singge Namgyal, in 1672 AD.

Shey Monastery located on the hilltop of Shey (the summer capital of the Leh city) is 15kms towards the South of the main city of Ladakh. It was built in 1655 after the order the king of Ladakh, Deldan Namgyal (Lhachen Palgyigon). The building which is mostly in ruins today was built by the king in the memory of his deceased father Singay Namgyal.

Thikse Gompa, of the Yellow Hat (Gelugpa) sect, is around 19 kms to the East of the main city of Leh. The architecture of the largest monastery in central region of Ladakh, is similar to the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. This 12-storey building complex consists of a number of things related to Buddhist art such as Thangka paintings, statues, stupas, swords, and so on. The building also has a nunnery..

Day 06 Leh – Khardung La Pass – Nubra Valley (By Road) (160 Km/ 4.5 hrs)

NUBRA VALLEY leads through KHARDUNG-LA-PASS (the highest motorable road in the world) at 18,390 ft, around 39kms from Leh.

Nubra Valley is situated about 150 km north of Leh, the capital town of Ladakh, India. Its name is derived from Ldumra (the valley of flowers). The average altitude of the valley is about 10,000 ft. above the sea level. The common way to access this valley is to travel over the Khardung La from Leh where one will first encounter the Shuok Valley. To enter the Nubra valley.

Leh town offers a number of sightseeing options for the visitors. A historic town that served as the royal capital of the Old Kingdom, it is dominated by the nine-storey palace built by King Singge Namgyal in the grand tradition of Tibetan architecture, which is said to have inspired the famous Potala in Lhasa built about half a century later.

Down in the historic bazaar, the main sites to visit are the Jo-khang, a newly built Buddhist temple, and the imposing historic mosque founded in the late 17th century standing, almost opposite. But the pleasures of Leh are not confined to the visiting of monuments and sites. For locals and visitors alike, a stroll along the main bazaar, observing the varied crowd and looking into the curio shops is an engaging experience. A particularly attractive sight is the line of women from nearby villages sitting along the edge of the footpath with baskets of fresh vegetables brought for sale. Behind the main bazaar, Chang Gali is less bustling but has interesting little shops selling curios and jewellery. Further on are the labyrinthine alleyways and piled-up houses of the old town, clustering around the foot of the palace hill. In the other direction, down the bazaar, are the Tibetan markets where one can bargain for pearls, turquoise, coral, lapis lazuli and many other kinds of semi-precious stones and jewellery, as well as carved yak-horn boxes, quaint brass locks, china or metal bowls, or any of a whole array of curios.

Alchi is situated around 70 kms. from Leh on the left banks of the Indus river. The village Alchi differentiate itself from other villages of Ladakh by being so lush green. The flood plain at Alchi is very fertile and provides good and relatively extensive agricultural land. Now most of the small houses are made of bricks. The main road at both side is covered by the Apricot trees. It is a normal sight to see the donkeys (Mules) laden with wares and building material during the summers when all the activities are at their peak. The Alchi region too received cultural influence from other areas.

Srinagar:- Srinagar is located in the picturesque Kashmir valley and one of the most beautiful cities in India in terms of natural splendor. The tourist attractions of Srinagar are mainly related to natural beauty like lakes, gardens, etc

Dal Lake is a major tourist attraction in Srinagar. Located on the eastern end of the city, the Dal Lake comprises of a series of lakes, including the Nagin Lake some 8 kms from the city center. One can enjoy the panoramic view of the mountains dotting Srinagar from this lake. You can enjoy taking a ride on traditional Kashmiri boats or the Shikaras to discover the intricate network of waterways of this lake.

Shalimar Gardens:- Shalimar Gardens are the piece de resistance of Srinagar’s many gardens and parks. This royal garden was laid out four hundred years ago by the Mughal Emperor Jehangir for his wife.

Nishat Bagh Gardens:- Nishat Bagh, though smaller than Shalimar, is more intensely beautiful. Descending in tiers to the Dal’s edge, Nishat is well known for its stately chinar plane trees, imported to Kashmir from distant Persia by the Mughals. Many of the giant chinar trees have been planted by the Mughals.

Pari Mahal :- Pari Mahal is as much a monument as garden. This was initially a garden built by Dara Shiko for his Sufi teacher, Mulla Shah. Once punctuated wth several springs that have since dried up, the Pari Mahal gardens are now the pride of the state. Pari Mahal is illuminated at night, and can he seen, located on the spur of a hill, from most places in Srinagar.

Day 02 Srinagar – Gulmarg – Srinagar (By Road) (50 kms. / 2 hrs – One Way)

Day 03 Srinagar–Pahalgam–Srinagar (By Road) (87 km/ 2h 20m – One Way)
After breakfast, Today enjoy full day excursion trip to Pahalgam 2440 Meters above Sea level. En-route visit Saffron fields, Anantnag Sulphur Springs. Drive through the green pine forest and along the Lidder River. Return back to Srinagar. Overnight Srinagar.

Pahalgam – The town of Pahalgam Village of Shepherds offers breathtaking views. One can just relax in one of the many hotels in Pahalgam, or trek on some of the many mountains. One can trek to Lidderwat, Kolohoi Glacier or to Sonmarg. Pahalgam is also the entry point for the famous Amarnath Cave, a holy site for Hindus.

Anantnag – At this point the road fords, one route turning northeast to Pahalgam and two others southeast to Achabal and Kokarnag or to Verinag. The Jammu road leaves this route just before Anantnag at Khanabal. Anantnag has a number of sulphur springs, esteemed for their curative properties. The largest spring is believed to be the home of Ananta, the serpent on which Lord Vishnu reclines and from which the town takes its name – ‘Abode of Ananta’. Ananta means ‘endless’ and the water issues from the base of a small hillock and rushes into another spring in the middle of which is a natural mineral deposit column which the locals revere as a lingam. On the 14th day of a full moon fortnight in September/October, there is a festival where the people fast and pour rice and milk into the spring to feed the goldfish.

Day 04 Srinagar – Sonmarg – Srinagar (By Road) (80 kms. / 2hrs – One Way)
After breakfast, Enjoy full day trip to Sonmarg Meadow of Gold also called Gateway to Laddakh.
Return back to Srinagar. Overnight Srinagar.

Sonamarg: is situated at a height of 2740 m in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Sonamarg is a small and beautiful hill resort. Sonamarg literally means the ‘Meadow of Gold’ and is known so due to the flowers that wraps the meadow in the spring. In the earlier days, Sonamarg lies on the main trading route into central Asia. Sonamarg is the last major point in the Kashmir valley before the Zoji La pass into Ladakh. At the pass, the green and lush Kashmiri landscape changes to the barren and dry landscape of Ladakh. Sonamarg offers various places of interest to the tourists like Nilagrad, Bisansar Lake & Krishnasar Lake and Nichnai Pass.

Leh town offers a number of sightseeing options for the visitors. A historic town that served as the royal capital of the Old Kingdom, it is dominated by the nine-storey palace built by King Singge Namgyal in the grand tradition of Tibetan architecture, which is said to have inspired the famous Potala in Lhasa built about half a century later.

Down in the historic bazaar, the main sites to visit are the Jo-khang, a newly built Buddhist temple, and the imposing historic mosque founded in the late 17th century standing, almost opposite. But the pleasures of Leh are not confined to the visiting of monuments and sites. For locals and visitors alike, a stroll along the main bazaar, observing the varied crowd and looking into the curio shops is an engaging experience. A particularly attractive sight is the line of women from nearby villages sitting along the edge of the footpath with baskets of fresh vegetables brought for sale. Behind the main bazaar, Chang Gali is less bustling but has interesting little shops selling curios and jewellery. Further on are the labyrinthine alleyways and piled-up houses of the old town, clustering around the foot of the palace hill. In the other direction, down the bazaar, are the Tibetan markets where one can bargain for pearls, turquoise, coral, lapis lazuli and many other kinds of semi-precious stones and jewellery, as well as carved yak-horn boxes, quaint brass locks, china or metal bowls, or any of a whole array of curios.

Day 07 Leh – Alchi – Lamayuru – Leh (By Road) (237 kms. / 5 hrs appx.)
In the morning after breakfast today visit to Alchi – Lamayuru.

Lamayuru: Often called moonland, Lamayuru has some beautiful mountains capes formed by a drained lake that are unique to the place. The slopes with their soft and creamy appearance were once working as walls of the enormous lake. Lamayuru’s Yung-Drung Gompa stands precariously perched a little high up the village. Visit the gompa, its prayer hall and its monastic school where children study Tibetan scriptures. Lamayuru is also the starting point for the trek to Padum over Sengge La.

Alchi Gompa dates back to the year 1000 AD and was built by the Translator, Rinchen Zangpo. He even made a reference about the monastery in his biographies. It is written that he brought thirty-two sculptors and wood carvers from Kashmir, for the construction of the Alchi Monastery of Leh Ladakh. The monastery is sited at a distance of approximately 67 km to the west of Leh. One can easily see an Indian touch in this monastery, especially in the way its paintings have been made.Three sacred temples, with the main one being that of Rinchen Lhakhang at Lotsa Lhakhang, make up a major part of the Alchi Gompa of Ladakh. However, there are other temples also, namely Jamyang Lhakhang Manjusri temple, Sumtsag Lhakhang and so on. There are a number of images inside the monastery. However, the main one is that of Vairocana. The other images include the ones of the five Buddha Families, along with their attendant deities.
Return back to Leh for overnight stay at hotel.

Day 08 Leh – Nubra Valley – Leh (By Road) (160 kms. / 4hrs – One Way)
Today samde day excursions trip to Numbra Valley.
Later in the evening return back to Leh for overnight stay at hotel.

Nubra Valley is situated about 150 km north of Leh, the capital town of Ladakh, India. Its name is derived from Ldumra the valley of flowers. The average altitude of the valley is about 10,000 ft. above the sea level. The common way to access this valley is to travel over the Khardung La from Leh where one will first encounter the Shuok Valley.

After a leisurely breakfast, we’ll drive to Spituk. Today we’ll cover Spituk Monastery, the famous Magnetic Hills, teh conflunce of Indus and Zanskar River near Nimoo and visit to Pather Sahib an inportant Sikh Pilgrimage Site.

Stock Palace 14kms – South east of Leh: Where the present day royal family resides. Stok Palace and museum was built in the year 1825, by King Tespal Tondup Namgyal. At present the place has a collection of royal dresses and crown etc. which is open for travelers.

Shey Palace 15kms south of Leh: Was built by Deldan Namgyal in the beginning of 17th century AD. The main image inn the monastery is three story statue of Buddha Shakamuni, made of copper gilt which was made by Deldan Namgyal in the memory of his father Singay Namgyal. The statue is the only of its kind in the region.

Thiksey Gompa 17kms south of Leh: The most beautifully in all the monasteries in Ladakh, belongs to the Gelukspa order.
Hemish Gompa 45kms south of Leh is one of the most famous and largest monasteries of Ladakh. It belongs to the Dupka order of Tibetan Buddhism. The monastery was founded by the first incarnation of Stasang Raspa Nawang of Stagsang Raspa Nawang gyasto in 1630, who was invited by King Singay Namgyal and offered a religious estate throughout the region.

Day 04 Leh – Nubra – Leh (By Road) (150 Kms. / 6-7 hrs. appx.)
After breakfast leave for Nubra Valley, driving across Khardong-la alt: 18,380 ft.
After descending from the pass, drive on for sightseeing of Sumoor area and Samstaling Gompa.
Later, drive back to Leh. Dinner and Overnight in Leh.

Morning flight to Delhi.

Agra -Historians suggest Agra to be the Agravana in the epic Mahabharata. It is expected to be known as Agralapura during the medieval age. An archaeological fact pushes the existence of Agra back to three million years. The Lodhi dynasty ruled over Agra for a long time. It was in the onset of the sixteenth century that the Mughals took over the ruling of Agra from the hands of Lodhis.

Taj Mahal Shah Jahan the great emperor and a great builder constructed Taj Mahal in the loving memory of his beloved wife Anjuman Bano Begum. Shah Jahan met this beautiful girl in his young age and later gets married with her. Taj Mahal completed in 1653 A.D. finished in by white marble, it is perhaps India most fascinating and beautiful monument.

Red Fort – The construction of the Agra fort was started around 1565 when the initial structures were built by Akbar. Shah Jahan replaced most of these with his marble creations. Some however survived, among them are – Delhi Gate., Amar Singh Gate, Akbari Mahal and the Jehangir Mahal. The fort is crescent shaped, flattened on the east with a long, nearly straight wall facing the river.

Day 04 Dharamshala
After breakfast city tour of Dharamsala, overnight at hotel

Dharamsala, popularly known as the ‘Queen of the Hills’, is divided into lower and upper towns with a difference of 457m1500ft. between them. The mountains enfold 3 sides of the town and the valley stretches to the south. Dharamsala is the headquarters of the Kangra district. It became the capital in 1852 and is 125 years old. An earthquake once wrecked Dharamsala in 1905. Since 1960, it became temporary headquarters of the Dalai Lama and has risen to international repute as “The little Lhasa in India”.

Day 05 Dharamshala – Kullu – Manali (By Road) (230 Kms. / 6 hrs. appx.)
After breakfast drive by private vehicle to Manali enroute visit Kullu

Kullu:- Kullu was once known as Kulanthpitha, which means the end of the habitable world. Beyond rose the forbidding heights of the Greater Himalayas, and by the banks of the shining river Beas, lay the fabled ‘Silver Valley’. Here is the core of an intricate web of numerous valleys – each of which is a visual delight and seems more beautiful than the other. The mountain scapes remain spectacular whether in brilliant sunshine or in the haze of the mist. The ‘Silver Valley’ has nature’s treasures that lie carelessly scattered as flowers on the high meadows.

After visit further drive to Manali. On arrival check into your respective hotel, overnight at hotel.

Manali: The landscape here is breath taking. One sees well-defined snow capped peaks, the Beas River with its clear water meanders through the town. On the other side are deodar and pine trees, tiny fields and fruit orchards. Day 07 Keylong – Sarchu (By Road) (106 Kms. / 3.5 hrs. appx.)

Sarchu- is the border line between Jammu n Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh after 20 Kms drive we enter into Himachal Pradesh and we reach Baralachala pass 4883 Mtrs. here on the top there is a lake known as Surajtal and we will meet first village at Darcha after Rumtze.

Day 08 Sarchu – Leh (By Road) (250 Kms. / 7 hrs. appx.)

Day 09 Leh
After breakfast full day excursion to Hemis, Shey and Thiksey overnight at hotel.

Hemis – The position of Hemis monastery lying in a small isolated valley south of the Indus, belies its importance. As headquarters of the Drukpa Old Buddhist order, it administers monasteries throughout the whole Ladakh – from the Indus to the Zanskar valley and from the Markha to the Sumdah valley. Hemis was established at the behest of Senge Namgyal in the early 17th century and since than has enjoyed the patronage of the royal family of Ladakh. It providesmonks as caretaker for royal monasteries at the Basgo, Leh and Shey palaces.

Shey – The former palace of upper Ladakh before Leh was established, this site commanded an important vantage over the Indus valley. Since 1834 however, after the royal family moved to Stokh, much of the palace and fort fell into disrepair; even the marshland immediately below was once a clear lake.

Thiksey – One of the most imposing monasteries in the Indus valley, Thiksey was part of the original Delgupta order in the 15th century. The monk’s quarter’s stretch right the way along the hillside beneath the main assembly hall. The library at Thiksy is supposedly one of the finest in Ladakh and a multi – denominations Gompa has recently been constructed – proof indeed of the continuing vitality of Buddhism in Ladakh.

Day 10 Leh
After breakfast excursion to Phyang and Spituk overnight at hotel.

Phyang monastery: – It is about 17km. west of Leh is remarkably built on the hilltop, similar to the Likir monastery. This monastery belongs to the Degungpa Order. It was the first monastery, which introduced the Degungpa teaching of ‘Skyob Jigsten Gonbo’ in Ladakh that was founded by Chosje Danma Kunga, during the reign of King Jamyang Namgyal in the 16th Century A.D. It has about 50 monks in residence. Phyang also has a festival called ‘Phyang Tseruk’ on the 2nd & 3rd of the 6th month of Tibetan Calendar.

Spituk:- The gompa stands prominently on the top of a hillock,8 Kms.from Leh, and commands a panaoramic view of the Indus Valley for miles. Many icons of Buddha and five thankas are found in 15th century monastery.There is also a collection of ancient masks, antique arms, and an awe inspiring image of Mahakal.

More About Leh:- Leh is the fascinating capital of the Autonomous Hill Council of Ladakh, also known as Little Tibet. The important monasteries to visit in and around Leh are Shey, Thiksey, Hemis, Spituk, Samkhar as well as the Shanti Stupa, Stok Palace and main Bazaar. The Leh palace dominating the town was the former home of the Namgyal Dynasty. The monastic festivals are very popular and Hemis, Phyang and Lamayaro festivals in summer are visited by lot of tourists who throng to see the Cham Dances.

PM – Visit Sankar Gompa.

Sankar Gompa:- Located at a distance of approximately 3 km from the town of Leh, the Sankar Gompa of Ladakh is a subsidiary of the Spituk Gompa. Belonging to Gelukpa Sect, it is also the official residence of The Kushok Bakul, Ladakh’s head of this sect. Ladakh Sankar Gompa has specific timings for the public, since, out of the 25 monks of the yellow-hat sect attached to it, a few reside here permanently. The entrance of the Dukhang is adorned with the paintings of the Guardian of the Four Directions, on either sides of the door.

Day 12 Leh – Alchi – Likir (By Road) (140 Kms. / 3 hrs. appx.)
After breakfast drive to Lamayuru enroute visit Likir and Alchi.

The Likir Gompa is Located at a distance of approximately 62 km to the west of Leh, the Likir Monastery dates back to the year 1065. It was during the reign of the fifth king of Ladakh, Lhachen Gyalpo, that Lama Duwang Chosje was offered land for building a monastery. A great champion of meditation, the Lama blessed the site and the monastery was built. The name Likir means “The Naga – Encircled”. The Likir Gompa at Ladakh was so named, as it stands encircled by the bodies of the two great serpent spirits, the Naga-rajas, Nanda and Taksako.

Alchi -Gompa of Ladakh at a distance of 67 kms from Leh dates back to the year 1000 A.D. Built by Rinchen Zangpo, it consists of a number of temples including Rinchen Lhakhang at Lotsa Lhakhang. Alchi

Gompa comprises of other temples such as Jamyang Lhakhang Manjusri temple and the Sumtsag Lhakhang. There are a number of Buddhists images and statues of their attendants too in the monastery.

After visit further drive to Lamayuru. On arrival check into your respective tent, overnight at tent.

Day 13 Lamayuru – Kargil (By Road) (110 Kms. / 4.5 hrs. appx.)
After breakfast drive to Kargil. On arrival check into your respective hotel, overnight at hotel.

PM – Visit Kargil

Kargil at an altitude of 2,704 m, 204-km from Srinagar in the west and 234-km from Leh in the east, is the second largest urban centre of Ladakh and headquarters of the district of same name. It’s situated in a lovely valley with apricot trees growing in the intensively cultivated fields. Once A Trade Route! Day 14 Kargil – Srinagar (By Road) (206 Kms. / 4.5 hrs. appx.)
After breakfast drive by private vehicle to Srinagar.
On arrival check into house boat overnight at house boat.

Day 15 Srinagar
After breakfast morning city tour with excursion to Mughal Gardens.

Day 16 Srinagar
After Breakfast leave for full day Excursion to Gulmarg.

Gulmarg It is 56 km. from Srinagar approx. 2hrs: drive it is known in the world as meadow of Flowers at altitude of 2730 meters 8700fts above Sea level. It is also known as Highest Golf Course of the World. Dinner and Overnight stay at deluxe houseboat or hotel.

Day 17 Srinagar – Delhi (By Flight)
After breakfast transfer to Srinagar airport for flight to Delhi. Arrive Delhi meet assist at airport and transfer to your respective hotel overnight at hotel.

PM – City Tour of Delhi.

Delhi- India’s capital and a major gateway to the country. New Delhi also reflects the legacy the British left behind. The division between New & Old Delhi is the distinction between the capitals of the British & the Moghuls respectively.

Tourist Attractions: Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India. Built by Shah Jahan, Red Fort, which was also built by Shah Jehan. This massive fort was built from 1638 to 1648, Chandni Chowk and Rajghat – the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi. Witness the India Gate, The Presidents House & the Parliament, Qutab Minar.

Day 18 Delhi – Home (By Flight)
Final departure transfer to Delhi international airport for flight back to home or next destination.
