Day 1: Arrive – Nouakchott
On arrival in Nouakchott, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Overnight in Nouakchott.

Day 2: Nouakchott  –  B
Breakfast and begin your day with a visit of the capital city of Nouakchott believed translation from Berber “The place of the winds” and one of the largest cities in the Sahara Desert.

Visit the following places: –the craft market –the mosque with its two minarets –the National Museum with its ethnographical and anthropological exhibit. In the afternoon visit to the desert dunes, trekking on the big dunes to discover the desert beauty. The return of boats in the late afternoon is an original performance, Overnight Nouakchott.

Day 3: Nouakchott – Atar    – B-L-D (By Road) (430 km / 5 hours)
After breakfast, depart for Atar. Drive through Akjoujt to Atar, Mauritania’s most beautiful region, with the country’s most impressive dunes, rock paintings, stunning oases and nomadic culture. Explore the traditional quarter and the market. Overnight in Atar.

Day 4: Atar –Azoughi – Chinguetti    – B-L-D (By Road) (105 km / 2 hrs appx)
After breakfast, drive to Azougoui, the ancient capital of the Almoravids, a group of Muslim warrior monks who conquered Morocco, Spain and sub-Saharan Africa in the eleventh century.

See vestiges of the fortress that was built in the cover of 20,000 palm trees and the mosque among a maze of rocks.

Then continue to Chinguetti the seventh holy city of Islam, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the libraries, traditional quarters, and oases.

Chinguetti, meaning “Good horse”, was established in (1261). It was on the caravan route linking northern Sudan to North-Africa. This road was the main access to the gold and other products from the Sudan. This ancient city was also a center of religious and cultural influence from where Mauritanians spread Islam and the Arab-Muslim culture to the entire West Africa. Chinguetti was a cultural center where theology, poetry, philosophy and law and other disciplines were studied. Overnight in Chinguetti.

Day 5: Chinguetti–Guelb Er Richat–Ouadane – B-L-D (By Road) (128 km/2 hrs)
After breakfast, depart to Ouadane with a stop in Guelb Er Richat, an impressive crater, which originated from a meteorite that Theodore Monod had been searching for, for many years. Ouadane which was one of the main caravan centers in West Africa. Overnight in Ouadane.

Day 6: Ouadane–Terjit–White valley–Atar – B-L -D (By Road) (285 Km / 5 hrs)
After breakfast, cross the White Valley to reach Terjit, the most beautiful oasis in Mauritania, where there are oasis with thermal springs and pools for bathing. Continue to Atar and rest of at leisure. Overnight in Atar.

Day 7: Atar – Nouakchott -B- (By Road) (438 kms / 6 hrs appx)
After breakfast, drive back to Nouakchott. Complete city tour by buying souvenirs or just stay at leisure the rest of day. Overnight in Nouakchotta.

Day 8: Nouakchott – Depart
Today, you will be transferred to the airport in time.

Day 2 Nouakchott–Akjoujt-Atar-Chinguetti (526 km/ 6 hrs 35 min)
After breakfast drive to Chinguetti via  Akjouit & Chinguetti that is declared a world heritage site by UNESCO.
Overnight in Chinguetti.  

Day 03 Chinguetti – Ouadae –  (By Road) (128 kms / 02 hrs appx)
After breakfast, drive to Oudane  Our journey will take us across 75 miles of fesh-fesh, the true sand dune desert with no tracks, where we will experience the isolation of the lost cities of the desert.

When we arrive in Ouadane, we will visit the museum that displays the surprisingly glorious past of this country.

Day 4 Ouadane – PasseD’Amogjar–Terjit  (By Road) ( 225 km/ 4 hrs)
The Passe d’Amogjar is a beautiful canyon, where we will see some amazing prehistoric paintings and the “Fort Saganne”, built by the French. After a short visit of Atar we will make our way into the desert along a picturesque track to Terjit, at the foot of the Mauritanidas mountain range, where an oasis with thermal springs and marvelous pools awaits us for bathing. Overnight in Terji.

Day 5  Terjit – Nouakchot  (By Road) (416 kms / 04 hrs appx.)
After breakfast drive to Nouakchot  and afternoon we visit Nouakchott town (the museum, market and craft industry).

Day 6 Nouakchott – Touilit – BancD’Arguin–Nouakchott  (By Road)
Depart to Banc d’Arguin, one of the most important natural parks in the world for migratory birds. the park stretches along approximately 125 miles of coastline and includes several islands. we will visit the park and sail with the Imragen, a community of shermen, in their rudimentary sailboats. depending on the time of year, we will see how they sh aided by dolphins. we will also observe the different ocks of birds that populate these islands, in the afternoon we depart to Nouakchott. Overnight in Nouakchott,

Day 7 Depart  Nouakchott (By Flight)
In the morning we will visit the markets and the museum, after lunch there will be enough time for a swim in the Atlantic Ocean and a visit to the bustling shing port, at night transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
