Day 01  Arrive  Kilimanjaro / Kilimanjaro – Arusha (52 kms / 01 hrs 12 min)
Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to hotel in Arusha. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02 Arusha – Tarangire NP – Lake Manyara (By Road)(238 kms / 05 hrs)
After breakfast, Proceed to first stop is in Arusha town, for any last minute purchases before we head off to our first national park of the safari – Tarangire National Park. We have lunch here before heading out on an afternoon game drive. Tarangire is known for its huge population of elephants and distinctive baobab trees. It also forms the centre of the annual migratory cycle that includes up to 3000 elephants, 25,000 wildebeests and 30,000 zebras. Overnight at Camp.

Day 03  Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, Proceed to Lake Manyara National Park for an early morning game drive. This beautiful national park is positioned in the north western corner of Lake Manyara which is a soda lake that lies at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. Manyara National Park is not only known for its large flocks of flamingos, but also for the elusive tree climbing lions. Overnight at Camp.

Day 04 Lake Manyara NP – Ngorongoro – Serengeti NP  (154 km / 04 hrs)
After breakfast, Proceed to we drive up along the Rift Valley escarpment towards the world famous Ngorongoro Crater. For many, this wildlife spectacle is the pinnacle of their safari experience. The Ngorongoro Crater boasts all of the ‘Big 5’, including a small population of endangered black rhino. After a picnic lunch, we head towards the Serengeti is best known for – the endless, undulated grass savannah with rocky outcrops that serve as isolated wildlife refuges. Later we head towards the Serengeti. Overnight at camp.

Day 05 Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, Proceed to today you will be spending a full day game driving around the Seronera area of the Serengeti. The Serengeti is divided into three main areas Seronera is the most central and accessible region and this is where the Park HQ is based, as well as most of the larger lodges and communal campsites. This part of the Serengeti is characterised by open plains of grassland, packed with animals. The Seronera River is the lifeblood of the Serengeti and this area is renowned for great game viewing all year round. It is also very good for big cat sightings like lion and cheetah and sometimes the elusive leopard. Overnight at camp.

Day 06  Serengeti NP – Lake Manyara NP (By Road) (101 km/ 01 hrs 20 min)
After breakfast, Proceed to today we retrace our steps with a morning game drive through the Serengeti followed by a picnic lunch, before continuing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. In route we visit Olduvai Gorge. Overnight at lodge.

Day 07 Lake Manyara NP–Arusha–Kilimanjaro (166 km/3 hrs)/Dep Kilimanjaro
We head to Arusha where the tour will end. Departure transfer to onward destination.

Day 01 Arrive Mandara Hut (By Trek)
Arrival Mandara Hut, meet assist and transfer to Kilimanjaro, Semi-tropical foothills to Marangu, situated on the south-eastern side of the mountain. As you drive, there are usually some excellent views of the snow-capped peak. On arrival at Marangu gate, you meet your team of guides and porters, pick up any last minute supplies for the trek, and head to the entrance of Mount Kilimanjaro National Park to register for the climb. From the cluster of buildings at the gate it is some four to five hours walk through patches of coffee plantation and dense rainforest to Mandara Hut. The forest teems with brightly-coloured bird life, colobus and other varieties of monkey. The flora includes numerous mosses, lichens and flowers, as well as delicate orchids. If the skies are clear you may have fine views over the town of Moshi lying at the edge of the plain far below.

Mandara Hut is a collection of basic, A-frame mountain huts with bunk beds – quite adequate for your needs – where you inevitably meet up with fellow trekkers who are bent on the same goal.
Transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02 Mandara Hut – Horombo Hut (By Trek)
After breakfast, Proceed to the Horombo Hut, on the mountain starts with a steep climb through the last swathe of rainforest, though this soon gives way to rolling alpine meadow dotted with giant heather. Once you leave the forest canopy, Kilimanjaro’s twin peaks – snowcovered Kibo and rocky Mawenzi – lie directly ahead, dominating the skyline. Further on you cross a zone of open heath with stunted vegetation, before emerging onto bleak moorland. Today you gain roughly 1,000m in altitude, and your walk can take anything from five to seven hours – depending on your pace. Tonight you stay at Horombo Huts – another collection of buildings similar in style to those at Mandara – which offer shelter and basic accommodation to those on the mountain. After enjoying exciting tour of Horombo Hut return back to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03 Horombo Hut (By Trek)
After breakfast, Proceed to A day here provides an opportunity for you to acclimatise gradually to the altitude. Statistics show that an acclimatisation day like this effectively doubles the chance of making it to the summit, so this time is well spent! The day is not exactly wasted as there are a few walks you can make in the vicinity of the hut – the most popular of which is to the base of Mawenzi Peak, the dramatic eastern summit of Kili. This walk takes four to five hours and will get you to an altitude of 4,600m before you return to the hut – this will stand you in good stead later on. After enjoying exciting tour of Horombo Hut return back to the hotel. Overnight at hotel

Day 04 Horombo Hut – Kibo Hut (By Trek)
After breakfast, Proceed to the Kibo Hut, The landscape becomes progressively more rocky and rugged as you leave the everlasting flowers and other bizarre alpine plants behind. Giant groundsels and lobelias appear in the sparse moorland. Today’s trail up to Kibo will again take anything between five and seven hours. Skirting Mawenzi Peak, you pass Last Water then cross a stark, almost lunar landscape onto “The Saddle”, a broad tundra desert between the two peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo. From here you start to get fantastic views of the upper reaches of the mountain before arriving at Kibo Hut, a dry-stone-walled hut with dormitories and limited facilities. Tonight you prepare for tomorrow’s final assault The Summit re-packing to leave any non-essential items with the porters; you need to summon all your energy to get to the summit so there’s absolutely no point in carrying anything you don’t need An early night is imperative as you must make a midnight start in order to reach the summit in the morning before the cloud cover settles, and then have time to get back down to the hut. Overnight at hotel.

Day 05 Kibo Hut – Uhuru Peak (By Trek)
After breakfast, Proceed to the Uhuru Peak, This is a long and demanding day! The guides wake you soon after midnight and you start out in darkness, zigzagging up a long scree slope by the light of your torch in the extreme cold. At this time of day the scree is still frozen – which makes it easier to walk on! After roughly two hours you should reach Hans Meyer’s Cave – named after the German geologist who made the first successful ascent in 1889 – where he found the remains of a frozen leopard. The gradient gets steeper and three hours on you should reach the crater rim at Johannes Notch. From here it’s a short scramble to Gillman’s Point in time for dawn. Your reward is the dramatic spectacle of the sun rising over the ice fields and craggy peaks of Mawenzi – the profusion of colors and shapes make all the suffering seem worthwhile For those who still have the energy and drive, it takes another couple of hours along the crater rim to reach Uhuru Peak. Your descent retraces the route back down past Kibo Hut to Horombo Hut for a well-deserved rest. Overnight at hotel.

Day 06 Uhuru Peak – Arusha (By Trek) / Depart Arusha
Departure transfer to onward destination.

Day 01  Arrive  Kilimanjaro / Kilimanjaro – Marangu (By Road) (80 km/ 02 hrs)
Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to hotel in Marangu. The rest of the day is at leisure before our trek starts in the morning. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02 Marangu – Trek – Rongai Campsite
After breakfast, Proceed to at 5895m above sea level, Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and majestically straddles the border between Kenya and Tanzania. Climbing to the top of this dormant volcano is one of Africa’s most exhilarating experiences and today we rise to the challenge. An early start takes us to the pretty wooden village of Nale Moru where we will begin our trek through fields of maize and potatoes before entering the pine forest. Climbing consistently throughout the day, we will stop for the night at the Rongai Campsite, on the edge of the moorland zone with views over the Kenyan plains. Overnight at camp.

Day 03  Rongai Campsite – Trek – Kikelewa
After breakfast, Proceed to continue our steady ascent up to the Second Cave with superb views of Kibo and the Eastern ice fields on the crater rim. After lunch, we leave the main trail and strike out across the moorland on a smaller path towards the jagged peaks of Mawenzi. Our campsite is in a sheltered valley with giant senecios near the Kikelewa Caves. Overnight at camp.

Day 04  Kikelewa Campsite – Trek – Mawenzi Tarn
After breakfast, Proceed to our trek continues with a short but steep climb up grassy slopes. We leave vegetation behind shortly before reaching the next camp at Mawenzi Tarn, directly beneath the towering spires of Mawenz. Overnight at camp.

Day 05  Mawenzi Tarn Camp – Trek – Kibo
After breakfast, Proceed to today we cross the lunar desert of the ‘Saddle’ between Mawenzi and Kibo to reach School campsite at the bottom of the Kibo crater wall. The remainder of the day is spent resting in preparation for the final ascent. Overnight at camp.

Day 06  Kibo Camp – The Summit
After breakfast, Proceed to morning the ascent continues as we climb very slowly on a switchback trail through loose volcanic scree to reach the crater rim at Gillman’s Point. We will rest there for a short time to enjoy the spectacular sunrise over Mawenzi, before carrying on to Uhuru Peak. Absorb the magnificent views across Kenya and Tanzania at ‘the roof of the world’. After some refreshment, we continue the descent to reach our final campsite at Horombo. Overnight at camp.

Day 07  The Summit – Marangu (By Road)  (8 kms / 22 min appx.)
After breakfast, Proceed to today is the final day of our trek as we make our final descent to Marangu gate and park headquarters. At Marangu gate successful climbers receive their summit certificates. We meet our driver guide with a packed lunch and drive back to the hotel to take a hot shower and celebrate. Overnight at hotel.

Day 08  Depart Marangu
Departure transfer to onward destination.

Day 01 Arrive Arusha / Arusha – Machame route (By Road) (61 km/1 hrs 20m)
On Arrival, meet assist and transfer to the Machame route, often called the “Whiskey Route”. From the Machame Park gate is a gentle climb up through the original montane forest, carpeted with unique -busy lizzie- flowers, begonias and ferns. First camp amongst the giant heather at 3,000m. Ascent of 1,200m and 5 to 6 hours walking. Overnight at camp.

Day 02 Machame route – Shira  (By Trek)
After breakfast, Proceed to the Shira, Emerge from the giant heather zone and hike through fine open moorland to camp by the Shira Cave at 3,840m. Herds of eland up here (& occasional lion!) and there are fascinating geological features in the old volcanic caldera which can be viewed during a half-hour optional walk in the afternoon. Ascent 840m and 4 to 5 hours walking. Overnight at camp.

Day 03 Shira – kibo Hut (By Trek)
After breakfast, Proceed to the the main peak Kibo, with the western glaciers clearly visible across the rugged high-altitude desert of volcanic rocks and boulders. Skirting around its base and under the imposing western Breach, descend into the sheltered Barranco Valley for mid-way camp at 3,950m. 6 to 7 hours walking and only 110m total ascent but having climbed much higher and dropped back down assists acclimatization. Overnight at camp

Day 04 Kibo Hut – Barafu Hut (By Trek)
After Breakfast, Proceed to the Barafu Hut, Up the steep Barranco wall with some sections of very easy scrambling and drop down again to the Karanga Valley where you take a break for lunch.

After lunch hike on to Barafu Hut 4600m, having hiked a total of 7 to 8 hours and ascended 650m. You have fantastic views across to Mawenzi peak from the camp after having completed a longer day of hiking which now requires you to adequately relax in preparation of the challenging summit hike early the following morning. Overnight at camp.

Day 05 Barafu Hut – Mweka (By Trek)
Ascent of 1,300m and about 7 hours trek to the summit; 2,600m descent and 6 to 7 hours trek to the Mweka campsite (3400m) above Mweka gate. This is a long hard day but you feel absolutely ecstatic when you have done it. Overnight at camp.After Breakfast, Proceed to the Mweka, A bracing 1am start to climb the steep frozen scree. This is unavoidable on any route but we aim to go past Gillman’s Point to reach Stella Point on the crater rim for sunrise another 40 minutes and you are at the highest point on the continent (Kibo:5900m), usually in warm sunshine. Return on the Mweka descent route.

Day 06 Mweka – Arusha (By Road) (94 km/ 02hrs 15 min) / Dep Arusha
Departure transfer to onward destination.
